Default Washing machine is destroying our clothes

Does anyone have a washing machine that doesn't have an agitator in the middle?
My washing machine is destroying our clothes. Its putting them out of shape, stretching them and they are getting all balls on the clothes. Anyone have any advice, tips etc?

Try a front loader - no agitator so much gentler on clothes

Another vote for front loader. Make sure you get one with short cycle options though as they do tend to be longer general cycles.

We have a Miele and love it.

We had a front loader and wouldn't go near one again. It took over 2 hours to wash a load of clothes and you couldn't add anything once you started if you forgot something. They might have better ones on the market now though.
We have a Samsung top loader and it doesn't have an agitator. It's been going strong for 4 years now. My parents in law have the smaller version and have also had no issues with it. It has a fuzzy setting for water saving as well.

Front loader here. We have a Simpson it's fairly new only about 5 months old and I love it. Loads of cycle options and gentle on clothes.

I had a Simpson top loader for about 14 years though without any issues. That's why I went with a Simpson again. Apart from the beeping at the end of a cycle has already stopped working which is kind of a blessing but a bit worrying.

I have the 15kg version of this and love it too. The dryer made the clothes smell weird for the first 6 months but it's perfect now. Not a fan of the lint build up on the seal though. A pain to clean.
