I have done 5 cycles now ranging from 50mg - 150mg and haven't had side effects with any cycle (even the ones that worked really well). I wouldn't get discouraged or take that as a sign it's not working. Good luck!

Feeling a bit let down ladies. When OB prescribed my Clomid he said I will ovulate cd 14... I am CD 12 and barely getting a line on my OPKs...

Thinking maybe it's not going to happen this month or happen too late again....

How late is too late? I ovulated day 19 in cycle 1 and day 22 in the other.

Don't be discouraged, when I was in lower doses I didn't ovulate until cd19-21, even on 150mg the earliest I o'd was cd 16. I conceived my daughter ovulating in cd21 and am currently 7weeks with a baby I conceived on cd20.

Also, I found my surge was much quicker on clomid. Opk would be stark white one day then blazing positive the next. When I wasn't on clomid the line would take ages to build up, almost like my body had to work so much harder to ovulate on its own.

I'm just wondering what is involved with seeing a fertility specialist? I haven't been referred yet just waiting to find a appointment to get a scan done then I will see my doctor who will then refer me. The problem is it has taken me 4 weeks to get an appointment waiting for a weekend one which is not happening so I asked to take half a day off at work so I can do it.

Do I need to continue to have scans and bloods after starting clomid to see if I'm ovulating? It's so frustrating because I really want this to happen an want to do it right but I feel like I can't get the time off to do it

I only got bloods on clomid. Though this cycle I didn't bother.

I feel your pain! I did so well with 150mg last cycle and this cycle I'm on CD20 and am JUST starting to see a rise in estrogen (still no dominant follicles) - if there wasn't another rise today though, this cycle was a wash. It's so frustrating that it can work one cycle and then not the next!!! Then I try to be optimistic and only feel worse when things go south....Good luck!

louise81 and Mamasupial - thanks for the positive encouragement!

Sarah - I have had bloods and scans with all my cycles - I am at Genea which I understand is a bit more expensive, but my insurance covers it and they offer clinic hours 7-9 am which means I don't take time off from work. I don't think bloods and scans are required but given my spotty ovulation, I feel much better knowing what's going on - good luck!
