if you're looking for this weekend it is expensive because of riverfire.
Whaaaat!?!?! People have to pay extra for babies!!?!?!?! I don't think I ever have and DS is 2.5yo. We cosleep though so never need a cot/extra bed.
Regarding the apartments have you tried including South Brisbane, Fortitude Valley and even Woolloongabba in your search? Add West End as well. It is still close enough to grab a 5 min bus trip to Southbank (or walk)
Oh yeah not doing this weekend with riverfire.
I found a place that's 2bedroom for 3 kids for $680. That's the best so I will need to hide my 4th.
It's so hard to arrange a nice weekend break for large families
people rent out privately owned properties for much cheaper than usual hotel rates. you can opt to rent a shared room (I think), a private room, or an entire house/apartment. we used it in LA, got to stay in this ultra cool 2 bedroom west Hollywood apartment for the cost of like a normal hotel room.
I checked out Airbnb. I'm looking strictly city centre. Found 1 unit $579 plus $100 cleaning. Don't want share or a house on outskirts of city.
Just as dear at a city hotel
hi there, I stayed at Oaks Lexicon in Brisbane a few weeks ago. The 1 bedroom apartment was HUGE and fantastic. The location was good- close to mall and river restaurants- 10/15 min walk to Southbank- we went to Sciecentre at Museum. Oaks was very inexpensive for what you got. could you get away with 2 bedr's rather than 3?
Yes oaks is the only ones I have found that's reasonable priced.
I have found oaks casino one. Two bedroom for $650 which is the cheapest but only can say I have 3 kids not 4
