Default Egg Donation in South Africa #11

Bulky uterus here too! Hasn't caused any issues. I thought it was due to the fibroids I have.
@irishhelllsbells, I had intralipid after BFP and then fortnightly up to 12 weeks.

Hi everyone, to all who have had success this year congrats and to all who are gearing up for cycles early next year good luck. I hope we have as much success as you all have had.

I read a lot about many of you doing intralipids but I have never had it mentioned in all the cycles I have done and all the FS I have been treated by. Could someone explain what prompts the need for this treatment ?

Most FS don't believe in it. The theory is that the prednisone suppresses the production of killer cells and the intralipids mop up any existing ones (quoting dr w from CFC). He didn't believe in it either but gave it to me at my request. My old IVF clinic, old FS and the Drs at a CFC don't believe in killer cells or the use of intralipids and it seems that wazza in Brisbane is the only one I've heard of that does. Even his offsider dr m doesn't believe in it yet I still got it administered through her. I actually believe it was the prednisone that got me pregnant by suppressing my high ANA. The fact that so many Drs in Aus and SA don't believe makes me tend to not believe either, yet I couldn't risk not trying it. They treated me this way as if I had high killer cells since I wasn't tested and it was to cover all bases. The effectiveness on high ANA is not really mentioned, however after 17 failed embies, and then both of no. 18 and 19 implanted on my last cycle, either the prednisone or the intralipids obviously made the difference as this was the only time I've tried them.

Just as a little note....CFC only administer 100mls of intralipids. LB and NL administer 200mls and Wazza (I think) and Dr M administer the full 500mls.

Sorry for the late reply @MamaKes but I actually don't know anything about adenomyosis. I don't even know if it can be picked up in the HyCoSy im having soon. It's super reassuring though, that if you have it mildly then it shouldn't effect implantation. Wazza seems to know what he's talking about!!
@JulieMalooley it's insane to think that popping handfuls of those tiny white pills (Pred) created such a dramatic difference, esp after 17 embryos.

Tahli thanks for letting us know. Does anyone know if CFC will do more if you ask them to?

I'd love it if it was 400mls. When I asked this week this was the responce I received from CFC " Intralipid 20 % one hundred millilitres (100 ml) mixed with Sodium Chloride five hundred millilitres (500ml)."
