    Hi girls,
Can anyone offer advice on progesterone. I know the injections are gold standard at cfc but the last 2 times i used them i had a severe reaction and on the second transfer it got to the point were my butt was as hard as a rock, red, hot and extremely painful. Walking was an issue too. The nurse has said this time i will use crinone. Has anyone else used this and had a possitive outcome? Does anyone know if you can alternate between injections and suppositories or is it better to stick to the same thing continuously? Thanks in advance and good luck to all.

Emski, I am so sorry to hear about your BFN! I thought for sure with getting 4 to day 5 and 2 for the freezer the quality would have been great and it would work.
Regarding the frosties, I do remember reading somewhere that FETs have a higher success rate when the fresh eggs from the same batch don't result in pregnancy vs FETS after a successful pregnancy from the fresh eggs. Apparently it can mean that the ones that were frozen were actually the better quality ones. Don't know how true that is though and I can see why you wouldn't want to risk it with all the costs involved.

Good luck with your surgery and hopefully in a year or so you and DH will be ready to have another go. I know you have a sibling for E in your future. XX

@emski - so sorry to hear of your BFN 😕... But confident that you will find a way forward whether it's another try down the track or just concentrating on your surgery.. Sending big hugs x

Ecm1981... I'm just alternating between gestone and crinone daily as suggested by CFC. I prefer gestone but have had some really sore cheeks but nothing like you described. The crinone equiv is twice daily. The purpose of keeping you progesterone up seems to be achieved either way so I don't think it really matters which way you go, crinone seemed to be more standard post fet in Australia, and progesterone pessaries post et IVF at the clinic I attended anyway. So go with what's most comfortable I say

My flights are booked. Land in Cape Town on 19th November, lining scan the following day. Expected transfer on 28th. Fly home on 3rd December. It's getting very real now.

I am having trouble finding good accommodation. Can any of you please recommend a suitable place? My sister is coming from Ireland to keep me company :-)

Just a little update from me. I had my first visit to CFC today. Out of 28 eggs collected I still have 25 embies going on day 3. I have my intralipids tomorrow then a single transfer on Wednesday. Dr W quoted 50% success rate for a single transfer and 60-65% for a double.
Still deciding which progesterone support to buy more of, Gestone at $30 for a box of 10 or Crinone at $65 for a box of 15.

Fantastic numbers Tahli, the Gestone works better than crinone. By the 3rd jab you'll have it down pat.

Irish, I stayed at the Harbour Edge Apartments, just a 5min walk to the V&A and you can walk to the city.
