My FB feed reminded me this morning that this time last year I was Aquila on safari looking at baby elephants! 12 months on, I'm in rainy Melbourne looking at my sleeping three month old... What a year it's been, can't thank this thread (past and present), our donor and CFC enough! Going to CT was the best thing I ever did. Never give up hope, ladies.

Well hello there lovely ladies, after almost 5 unsuccessful years of IVF with my own eggs entailing 9 cycles, 11 transfers and 2 MC it's time for me to out myself from lurkerville. These boards have been an unbelievable source of information and inspiration over the years, particularly last year as I was coming to terms with the fact that I may not be able to have my own biological child... I decided to go through the motions and have one last IVF cycle earlier this year – I was shocked beyond belief when I actually fell pregnant. I walked on air for a few weeks but miscarried at the beginning of September and after that DH and I decided we could no longer take the heartbreak of continuing to try with my own 43 year old eggs and we have moved to donor. We paid our 40,000 rand deposit to CFC today and have locked in our donor - who looks uncannily like me as a child, but is unproven which I am anxious about... Depending on the outcome of our donor's screening we hope to be in Cape Town in January. Patsy73, your last post was lovely and I hope with all my heart that I am in the same position as you this time next year... So many wonderful success stories on this thread gave me hope during some very dark and difficult times over the years... Warmest wishes to you all.

LastChance: Also baby2mom is another agency, and so far we've found her (Jenny is the owner), to be quite attentive. Her database seemed to be very large, and the data available for each donor was very extensive - we found to be more so than others. Although our transfer in a few weeks will tell for sure.

Thanks to all who've commented and help she'd more light on the embryoscope. According to our doc's nurse, is now booked for us (assuming our dates don't change!) still no word from her on costing, but at least we have a good sense of this from many if you (thank you again!)

Patsy73: Your beautiful post was both inspiring and very hopeful to all of us still on the journey. May we all be blessed with such a sweet twelve-month look-back, with our very own bub or two breathing beside us.

We fly out (of Toronto) in less than 48hrs and DP and i are not even packed yet!?!? I'm a mix of excitement, cautious optimism and a little bit of fear. I want so much for this to be our time. After 4yrs we both want this so very much. My drug protocol thus far has been gross and intense. But aside from having just typed these words here, I've opted not to complain at all. If this is what it takes to have success it is all worthwhile.

Ok, ok, off to bed. Sweet dreams to all.
    Xoxo

    Default Embryo testing

If you are looking at embryo testing please see Genesis Genetics.
    http://www.genesisgenetics.co.za

We haven't used them but we had a miscarriage this week and the agency suggested we do the testing next time with Genesis Genetics. Just wanted to share with everyone travelling soon.. Wishing you all the best x
