Lolly : Crinone gel is another form of progesterone. It is an alternative to Pesseries but not as strong as the Gestone injections.

Clexane - if you are just doing the 1 injection before the flight , you have been prescribed it to avoid deep vein thrombosis associated with air travel. Those that do weeks/ months if Clexane are doing it as part of an immune protocol - so same drug but 2 different purposes.

RE Embryoscope - basically it is as Lolly said above. The benefit is that instead of the embryologist taking the Petrie dishes out each day to look At growth, they never leave the incubator and are filmed 24/7. The embryologist can then review the footage for overall growth plus the way the embryos grow ie choose the one/s that are consistent etc rather than just fastest ( or whatever they are looking for). Also less handling should mean more blasts. I used it and ended up with 7blasts out of 9 collected eggs - I am a convert.

Hmmm ....our doc is Le Roux. He has confirmed that we can most likely use the embryoscope, but did not mention any additional cost. Do you recall what the additional cost was? I would so have preferred him to be transparent.
    Thanks Tahli!

About $450 for the embryoscope and you need to get your nurse to book you a spot as spaces are limited. Kimenthra should confirm the reserved slot. Good luck!

Can you only use the embryoscope on a new donor cycle? I take it its from day 1 and filmed right through? So if they didnt do it for me at the beginning am i right in saying i can use it this time round for my FET?

Lolly99 on my first transfer witb fresh embryos i was on progesterone injections from approx 3/4 days before the transfer up until i got my negative pregnancy result. Cyndi showed me how to do them on our first visit to the clinic. Maybe this is yet to come with you? Im not using the injections this time around because i had a bad reaction and could hardly walk after a week or two on the shots. So now im going to try crinone ☺ it wasnt the injection that hurt but what it did to my muscle or something.

ECM - yes, only for a fresh cycle as it is for the period PRIOR to freezing.

CJOCOH - My Dr was also PLeR. It isn't the doctors that you need to talk costs with, it is their nurse co-ordinator. CFC aren't actively promoting the Embryoscope - you have to ask for it. They seem to have been using it unofficially to test it from about the end of 2014 and only started doing it officially and charging for it about March/April this year. When I spoke to PLeR about it, his view was it wouldn't hurt but he had no hard evidence that it would help. That was in May/June so not sure if he is still sitting on the fence.

For me, for $450 it was a no brainer but like everything in this journey, you should do some research and make your own decision.

KLM - what lovely news ! Enjoy and congratulations.

Wow KLM, that was quick (well, maybe not for you!) Congratulations Hun, and welcome little Kira.

Thank you all the good flight advice. We found some, much cheaper than the $4800 quoted.

Tomorrow at work I start the '1 week countdown' to flying out. Luckily we aren't gone so long this time and don't have that head-rush of getting everything done before I go. I must say that this time I don't feel as prepared, as confident, or as excited. I can't get on top of my nonchalance, maybe my heart knows this is going to be a bust again. I am trying to be positive but I keep slipping into 'sigh' mode, going through the motions to get this over and done with. Is that just 2nd time around experience I wonder? I wish I could find that 'caged tiger' feeling I had last time. Ho hum!

Good luck to our PUPO girl Tahli.

Its ok jennski, i think its normal to feel like that. I feel the same. Then i feel bad at myself for not being more positive. I know the mind is a very powerful tool but its hard to be positive after failures. We try to protect ourselves by being realistic. Well thats how i look at it anyway. But then i also have fleeting moments of excitement and i remember that it only takes one and you never know, this could be our time Jenn! All the other ladies on here who are now pregnant/have babies after many failures would have felt the same at some point im sure, but then they got pregnant yippee. One week and we will be sitting in M and B staring at the mountain. On my walk today i told myself my body isnt broken and i can be pregnant and im going to try to tell myself that everyday and hope for the best xxx

    Jennski & ECM

To help me stay positive, I made an A3 size collage of pictures and words that to me were about preg, babies, children, families and love/success etc. it wasn't at all about IVF more about keeping positive thoughts about the outcome I was seeking. I then had it on a wall in my bedroom so that it was the first and last thing I saw everyday.

I found it good for keeping me reminded of the outcome not the trials and tribulations in the process.
