    Hi ladies

Wow, you leave this forum for a few days, and it is all happening! Leyshoja, all fingers crossed for you this time, really will be thinking of you.
So many BFP's and babies born, it is just great!

We have finally chosen a donor! I will be heading to CT first 2 weeks of December. DH won't be able to come , so we have to organise for frozen sperm to go - needs an import licence that takes 6-8 weeks to organise - problem is we are getting a TUNEL test done next week that takes at least a week to get results back, and we do not want to go ahead and pay CFC for organising license until we have results, as we migth decide to go with DS as well. Talk of cutting it fine!

Thanks @faith15 that explains it all right!
Has any-one chosen not to use the POI and used Crinone instead? My FN said 2 Crinones equates to 1 POI but another one of the girls on here said it's 4 Crinones. Is Crinone the same price in CT? Thoughts?

As someone who had to use progesterone until 18 weeks I would suggest sticking to the POI. It is considered the 'gold standard'.

Even if you are using crinone in equal amounts it is not absorbed as effectively. I am also one who got extra POI in CT to last until 12 weeks. I used crinone to supplement the POI from 6 weeks due to numerous SCH bleeds. I believe the POI is what saved us those times from miscarriage..
When the POI stopped I was still on crinone 4 x per day.

From memory the Gestone is also cheaper than crinone at CFC.

Dr M told me 1 x 2ml Gestone ampoule is equivilent in effectiveness to 4 Crinone Gel sticks.

Also as someone that did Progesterone until the end of the first trimester, I would much prefer Gestone over Crinone despite the Crinone appearing easier ..... I used Crinone to wean off progesterone over a few weeks & finally finished it a fortnight ago and only yesterday did I stop getting little greenish cottage cheese 'gifts' every time I went to the bathroom. Give me an injection any time over the big surprise clumps and leftovers.

Crinone is a fraction of the price in SA than in Aus .... if anyone is heading over, stock up on it over there. I think it has an 18 month expiry.

If you find out let me know. Mine is horrible. It's actually a work login which is a combo of my ex married name and first initial !

@Zara01 can I ask ballpark what it will cost you to get the sperm over there? Is it cheaper than bringing my DP if we have to come back? Btw, if this is yet another negative for us I'm planning on donor no 3 in the first few weeks of December so might see you there! Good luck getting it all done in time.

Agree about the gestone, but it is surprisingly cheaper in Aus than CT. I got enough for 12 weeks.

leyshoja CFC ask 5500 rand admin fee, and 1800 rand storage fee, and getting it frozen here is about 400 NZ dollar. Not sure about courier fees yet, but I am certain it will still be cheaper than paying for two people for 2 weeks in CT. For your sake, I hope I do not see you in CT in December, as that would mean good news!
