Happy new year all. My champagne drinking days are over as I start stimms today. Doing 300 menopur which is a change for me as have previously done 225 Gonal f and 225 menopur which got me 17 and 11 mature eggs respectively. Hoping for third time lucky on a normal embryo. Hopefully some of the recent BFP's are contagious for the rest of us!

Good luck @Green lady really hoping the change in protocol works and you are successful getting a good embryo. Contagious bfp would be very much appreciated in here I am sure lol!

    Default Brisbane IVF'ers 2015 #2

Happy New Year everyone! Hope this is going to be a great one for everyone.

    Congratulations @MrsChino and &BecT!
@Green lady, thinking of you as you start your stims. I always feel hopeful at the start of a stim cycle because it feels like we are finally doing something again but those first few days are also always stressful for me. Hope it all goes well and you get some great embryos and your bfp!

AFM - I had a scan today to check on what is happening, the sac was still there, not sure if it was slightly bigger as it was visible through an abdominal scan. It seems to be breaking down though as it hasn't got the consistent round shape it had before. The results of my BT also show hcg is dropping its now just over 400, so hopefully things will go well from here without complication, the bleeding is increasing slightly.

How is everyone else going have you all had a good start to the new year?

@Heyside awww hun I hope things speed up for you. Hcg dropping is a good sign of things moving along at least. Sending you so much love xoxo

My new year has consisted of binge watching Netflix lol. This rain has meant dd and I have been couped up in the house going nuts.

Thanks @BecT, binge watching netflix sounds good, I need to look into buying netflix. Hope you have managed to get out with DD it was very hot here yesterday.

AFM - My bleeding has picked up a little and is now more like a period but worried it isn't as heavy as I expected at the moment. Wondering if I have lots more to come yet, not experiencing cramps yet either. DH is putting off a trip to Sydney next week until he knows all is ok, dont want him away if something goes wrong but its a waiting game.

Hi all! How are we all doing? Sorry I've been such a slacker with keeping up with everyone.
@Heyside how are you feeling hun? Is the bleeding increasing? I hope it is over very shortly and you can go back to cycling. It's definitely been long enough! How are the school holidays treating you with DD?

@greenlady how are you doing? Have you had any scans yet? Have you got an estimated EPU date yet? Crossing my fingers the menopur might make all the difference. It really is trial and error isn't it! Hope you aren't too uncomfortable.

@MrsChino - not long now for the much awaited scan. I am crossing my fingers for a perfect outcome, even if there might be two in there

@Ree888 congratulations on your NT test results! And congratulations on it being a girl

@Ducky01 I hope all those scans are booked in now, keep us updated on how you are going! Very very exciting

@shelby27 when are you starting again?

@mrsthomo wow that dishwashing comment is something. That gorgeous boy wouldn't have known any different. He seems very cute - I wonder if I can borrow him for some dishes too Yes the expenses are really adding up- I've just had my first follow up appt for the year and paying a loooot more for appointments as I haven't reached the safety net yet. Can't wait to reach it again! I also couldn't wait to kiss 2015 away- what a crap year it has been. I am crossing everything that this year will be better for all. *well I can't actually say it was crap for all in here, as there were many people BFP's made by the end. It's rough seeing babies everywhere and talking about it. It really depends what frame of mind you are in, doesn't it. On good days I can handle it, and on bad I feel like curling up and going into hibernation until I wake up pregnant!

@AngelK33 how are you doing? Have you had your naturopath appt yet? I hope you are having some good days amongst the bad- it can wear you down big time.

@keepontrying13 what are your next plans for this year? I really really hope that this year brings lots and lots of magically baby dust. And I really mean it

@Bluemeeple Any dates book in yet for your scan? Hoping you had a lovely xmas and new years

Hope everyone that I have forgotten is also doing well, I think we really need a roll call soon

And I forgot to post about my appt! Silly me. Basically will start a stim cycle early February. I was within perfect timing to start one this month but turns out I already have a 10mm follicle and FS thought it might hog all the FSH. And really we need a perfect start. I couldn't agree more. Also my ovaries only had about 9 antral follicles on each- so apparently not 'polycystic looking'. I still find it hard to believe, but anywhoo, maybe the ovarian lasering has done some major good!

Thanks to that one lonesome 10mm follicle I have scored myself another scan next week if I am ovulating on my own. If not it's back on the pill and then start from there.

Plan is standard IVF and back to Gonal F but a lower dose (higher than last cycle with puregon though), starting orgalutran earlier on day 2 I think so theres not that much LH getting to those precious eggs early on, then adding LH on day 6 I think it was. Also using saizen and an ovidrel (250mcg) trigger (that's if my oestrogen isn't skyrocketing)

What sort of trigger shots (and doses if you remember) have you guys used for your successful cycles? Just trying to compare my info on the net that actually recommends a higher dose (it's for meiosis to occur properly and it makes complete sense that I really should have a higher dose as I had quite a few embryos with multiple nucleii (so more chromosomes than normal). On the other hand I can't use a higher dose thanks to my PCO and risk of OHSS. And since I have had it before they are being very careful.

@Keiko2012 - I'm on day 7 of stimms today, day 8 tomorrow. Started orgalutran on day 5. So far so good, bit of a bloated feeling which I don't usually get but won't know what's happening until scan Mon which will be day 10. I've read about the trigger amount and how the standard ovidrel trigger given may not trigger full meiosis and I intend to ask FS about it, however I doubt he would increase the trigger dose because of the OHSS risk ( which I was at risk of last time) and the lucrin trigger or whatever it's called doesn't always work on everyone ( so my FS told me) and so I want to stick with the ovidrel trigger if I can.

Hopefully this is the magic cycle for you, it sounds pretty tailored for you which is good. I'm worried mine is a bit of trial and error as I've read that menopur can be bad for older ladies who already have higher lh and the menopur is adding more. I think wazza only gives lh to those who need it whereas I don't know if my FS has actually taken into account my usual lh level and prescribed the menopur or whether it's just been suggested because Gonal f didn't give me any normal embryos but then neither did last cycle with 225 menopur. I hate all the second guessing with this IVF game. There is so much contradictory information on the net.
