    Default Ipad for school

We got the news today that grade 3 children will need there own ipad next year, some people have said don't go 16gb it's to small you'll regret it but it's the only size the school are offering on a payment plan and we just don't have the cash upfront to buy one out right. So honest opinions 16gb ok or try and pull some money from thin air to go bigger??

Does the school require a particular model (ie latest one iPad Air) or would an ipad2 be sufficient? You could look on gumtree or similar for ipad2 32gb secondhand - there are usually some good (and much cheaper!) deals on there.

My boys' school has a 1:1 ipad policy from grade 3 onwards. They offer all sizes on the plans- it's annoying that your school doesn't offer it.

    Is layby an option?

I would stick to a model the school suggests, purely because some apps aren't backwards compatible so ask the school if it matters then go from there.
