    Default 9 weeks pregnant?

Hi ladies, I'm a little confused as to how many weeks pregnant I am. This one was an unexpected surprise and because I have irregular cycles I had an early scan done. That gave me an edd of 10/04/16 and said there was a 5 week 4 day fetus with heartbeat seen. Now that would mean it's now 9 weeks and 1 day but I'm confused when I look at pages showing what to expect at certain week do I look at you are 9 weeks pregnant or would that only be if I had a 28 day cycle? Sorry if I don't make myself that clear, I suffered a brain injury 3 years ago and find it hard to always put my thoughts down properly when I type.

    ThanK you

You would go by the dating scan.

If the dating scan was approx 4 weeks ago then yes you're 9 weeks pregnant. Cycle length is important for establishing a due date, but doesn't effect how pregnant you are, if that makes sense.

Your cycle length doesn't apply anymore. You count by weeks not months as well. So pretty much means you tick over a week on Sundays. Does that help?
