Really feel for you @bbhope. Sleep deprivation is a killer. Hope you get some sleep. Have you heard of baby's magic tea? Apparently that can help.

Default Day 5 blasto FET on day 4? #2

Our bub is such a funny one, literally noone can settle him when he decides to cry bloody murder. Even if he isn't hungry i can only put him on my boob for him to calm down. Once calm then i can rock him to sleep. When i put him on the boob he does feed for a little so i'm not sure if that means he is hungry or not? but once he falls asleep i can get him to sleep and then put him in the bassinet. It makes me scared to go out because i'm worried i can't soothe my own baby!!! So happy to hear things are going great for you now. 4 months old! wow, time does fly!
@Apples1234 - i got mine at 6dp5dt but everyone is different.
@Tanej78 - aw husbo left....big hugs. Yes second week of 2ww is always hardest. I caved and tested earlier than i wanted to. It was making me not sleep properly! And then after i tested and got my positive i tested everyday making sure it got darker. So honestly, it didn't even reduce my stress levels. Just a different kind of stress. Do you think you will POAS? Next monday...eek! Or Sat did you say? Oh fingers crossed hun! any other feelings lately?
@Minib - wow almost swab time. Don't worry too much about the swab. I tested positive and all you get is a shot every 4 hrs during labour. You won't even notice it. But fx you don't have it. Can't wait till you get to meet your little girl! how are you feeling? Are you getting any stretch marks? i thot i only got them on my waist....now that my belly has gone down i see them all around my belly button!! i couldn't see them during pregnancy. Doh! i guess it's one piece swim suits from now on....lol.
@bbhope - is bub feeling better again today? i hope he is on the mend. I'm going to get the prescription from the GP but not sure if i'll use it yet. I also heard brewer's yeast and funnelgreek is good? I may try natural remedies first. I feel like supply has increased slightly cos i can get about 30ml after each feed now. The more i can express the less formula i need to give bubs. So far so good with the formula. Yesterday he got a total of 160ml. He did massive poops yesterday with the biggest at 10:30 last night. It was huge!! But haven't seen any proper ones today. I hope he does one soon. I'm worried he's gonna get all clogged up. They said they should be doing a poop after each feed. He was doing that yesterday but today not so much. Oh i really hope he's not constipated. But they said 160ml volume shouldn't cause any constipation. How much formula does your bub get bbhope?

Seriously, gotta do whatever you can. Cos your bub wasn't sleeping long periods it's very hard to try and increase breastmilk through expressing. Once you finish expressing, bub is up again. no way i would stick with it if bub wasn't sleeping.

Hey did you guys hear that there is no stock of bellamy's organic? if Nan comfort didn't work out i was going to try bellamy's. It's got great reviews online. But apparently they can't keep up with demand. :/
The reason for the formulae shortage in Australia is because people are buying it all and selling to the Chinese for inflated prices like $200 a tin online. Hopefully the government can stop this. Could be dangerous for Aussie mums and bubs if it got to a point of not enough. I've heard stories of poor parents trying several supermarkets trying to track down a tin.

I think with bjorn its recommended to wait until baby is at least 3.5kgs or 53cms?
@Tanej78 I'm also surrounded by people who have children. They have been giving me a lot of advise and I've heard heaps throughout the year. Especially from families as I see the kids grow up and got pretty involved.

@Tanej78 - will be thinking of you this Fri / Sat. I'm so eager it's almost like i'm testing for myself!! cmon little emby, stick stick stick!!!
@Minib- luckily our bub came out meeting that criteria! haha. We only put him in the baby bjorn once. he liked it for a little bit but my mum convinced us to take him out and put him down and he started crying!!! aargh the next time we used it it didn't help and he kept crying.

Ok so after 2.5 days of formula and express top up bub has put on 200g!!! OMG! what a fatty! they didn't tell me he was putting on too much weight but the lactation consultant said to reduce the top up to just 30-60 ml after each feed to prevent bub not breastfeeding effectively. Especially now that we don't have a weight problem and we know bub can put on the weight. She said if he fusses even after 60ml then just put him back on the breasts but to see how we go. if he's really fussy then give him another 30ml. Yesterday for some feeds i was giving him 90ml top up after a feed cos he wasn't settling. woops! maybe a bit too much. I know he gets about 60ml at least from the breast feed but maybe those 90ml top up ones he was being lazy on the breasts and got less. Anyways so far today we've only topped up 30ml and he's been ok so far. FX my supply is increasing. I've also been given a prescription for mortilium (whatever it's called) but she said to try brewers yeast and funnelgreek first. She doesn't seem to think i have too big a supply issue and thinks i can really fix it if i put my mind to it. It's soo exhausting tho. I feel like i'm just feeding all day long. i mean 8 feeds a day and it takes hr at least to feed, burp, swaddle, settle, nappy change etc and then another 20 min pump. anyways....gotta keep going.

Oh and bub got assessed by the specialist and she confirmed same with everyone else. Only minor tongue tied but she said as i am having supply issues to just have it snipped anyways. Could help. So we got that done. Poor little thing. I felt bad for him even tho they said it doesn't really hurt esp cos it's such a small minor one.

i guess i'm just happy that bubs has surpassed birth weight finally. 3.91kg
@Apples1234 - yes how frustrating hey? It's quite ridiculous!!
@bbhope - i know exactly how you feel. Luckily with mum she's not staying with us so if we get into a bit of a fight she just goes home but comes back the next day and all is forgiven. Luckily she gets over things quickly. But once dh goes back to work she's going to stay over a few nights so dh can get a good nights rest for work. It's going to be so hard when he goes back. I'm dreading it. Actually with dh home it's quite manageable. Not too bad. but it's going to be super bad when he's gone. Just in those moments when i've had enough. I can't give bubs to mum cos she can't settle him and is so impatient. After holding him for 3 min she's like, oh let's put him back in the bassinet and see. Meanwhile he's still screaming. I am so surprised how little perseverance she has. I don't know why i expected her to be an expert in newborns when in actual fact most grandparents know nothing. It has been way too long, they probably have forgotten and it was different times back then. They probably had a nanny or a wet nurse etc. @Minib - you are actually quite lucky your mum admitted to not knowing anything. That shows that your relationship may not be so bad. I wish my mum would just admit she knew nothing rather than make it out like she knows best and give all these opinions of which none work but make things worse.

@Tanej78: i'll cross my fingers, eyes, toes for you on Sat.

I just have a spare moment since bub is catnapping with few mins boob time each time the reflux bothers him.

Bub is measured whooping 5kg today!!! ~70 percentile for his age. He is about 55cm. VERY chubby. Dr is happy so we aren't going to worry. I'll look more into the carrier if he can use it now.
@Gelati:This is pretty much what i do. BF, top up (90 ml limit), if fuss, back to the boob. If more fuss, some more top up but these days he hardly needs anymore after last round of boob session. I wish we know his reflux problem earlier because we certainly overfed him in early days. With reflux, he isn't hungry but just needs something to soothe his throat. It is true that babies will get lazy with boobs with bottle feeding. Bub tends to skip boobs and straight to the bottle when he is super hungry!!!! Hope the natural remedies work for you. Mortilium is the only thing that works for me. Yes it does sound like you have less problem than me. I wonder what you think of your mom theory of food relates to your production. As i mentioned, my mom doesn't think salad is good for me because it won't produce milk for bub. I think it is more about balance diet. I can't be on protein only diet.
@Minib: just like gelati said, you should be fine with your mom.
@Apples1234: yes, the shortage is caused by exporting the formula to china after the incident there.

AFM, just got back from the paed appointment. I'm not sure what to think of it. As usual, I feel like i am the one who do the research and make the diagnosis rather than the Dr. The Dr said that colic (digestive) is normal and it will go away on its own. The fact that he started all these at 3w is the classic sign. Sigh....i feel so hopeless. It can't be normal to be in such pain for passing the gas? When i felt difficult in early days, everyone is telling me that things will get better. I feel like it is getting worse. Bub hardly sleep at all. We would be lucky if he sleeps more than 30 mins! He needs to be picked up and be held all the time. I understand that he is just trying to get used to the life outside the womb. We try our best to comfort him. The wind problem seems to add in complication. The positive note is that he always cries for a reason.

Then, i went on to ask about reflux and medication. Again, i am playing medical dr here! He prescribed losec and will want us to go back in two weeks time for his 6--8w check officially. We will move by then and it will be an hr drive for the appt. I think we need to find a new pead after that follow up.

@bbhope great to hear Bub is weighing in well. So stressful when they tell you they are underweight.

Oh god only 30min? How are you getting enough rest? I'd be a blubbering mess! I hope the medication helps Bub and then you can all start to get some sleep. Just remember it won't be like this forever it helps me to keep reminding myself of that. How many weeks is Bub now?

I read somewhere that constipation is not about the frequency of the bowel movement but the consistency. are his poos runny or thicker like peanut butter? The latter means constipation. There's also a gas drink you can give bubs to help him pass gas. Just stuff I've been reading in forums l. Bubs is 3 weeks tmr. Uh oh I hope he doesn't get colic!!!

I have to reduce bubs top up now. They are hoping eventually all my top ups will be expressed. That's the aim. Such an uphill battle. Sometimes I express and get nothing it's so depressing. Now when i know bubs will be down for 2 hrs I sneakily express after 45 min of feeding him so I can get an extra 30ml. I like to feed him half express half formula if I can. Fx my supply increases. Cmon!!!

I think full protein is no good. Surely there are other things you can eat? What about fruit and Chinese herb things? I don't think it's healthy not to eat any veggies. What about fibre? You need that for your own bowel movements. Balanced diet sounds good to me.

@bbhope why don't you eat vegetable during confinement? I asked mum about my confinement diet. There will be heaps of fish, vegetables and chicken soup. Mum said can't just eat meat all the time. There will be heaps of chicken soup with some Chinese herb

Mum doesn't want me to eat salad as its 'cold' but she's happy for me to eat steam and stir fry vegetables. As long as it's warm food then it's ok. Oh she did say cabbage is 'cold' vegetable so not to eat that by beans, spinach etc are good.

@Gelati: if bub is colic, it should have shown up by now. It is only 1 in 5 and we just fall into the small statistic again. It is getting worse and really hope that it will get passed sooner. Today, he cried for NO reason and it was driving me nut. Thankfully, my mom is here (one good thing). I just passed him to her. What's the gas drink? Bub is hard to be burped so that's another problem.
@Minib: because the confinement recipe book that my mom bought only mentions about meat dishes! Also, I have a lot of gas with bean. When bub started the gas problem, we pretty much eliminating food one by one from my diet. Any vege suggestion then?
