    Why not just say rent? What is rand supposed to be?
    Does that not sound funny to you. A-Squared?
    Maybe it's another accent thing?
    It does my head in though because she goes on to pronounce rent perfectly only a few seconds later.

    Oh! I was wondering what the heck rant meant. I did notice it, I assumed it was a Victorian / Melbournian accent. They pronounce their 'e's as 'a's. I can pick the accent a mile off!

    It sounds like my family with the soft a sound for the e. This is common with people growing up around older people from the country my family came to Australia from. Not everyone has the same accent
