Default Bleeding 7 weeks post c-section?

Hi looking for some experience/advice. I had a c-section 7.5 weeks ago and I'm still bleeding. I don't know if it's my period now or still from the birth process and if so is that normal? I had a few days where it tapered off to just light brown spotting then yesterday it's come back heavier red bleeding again. No period type cramps though... I am exclusively breastfeeding 8-10 times a day and before pregnancy I had very irregular periods due to PCOS not sure if that impacts things. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't be too concerned, I was still bleeding 6 weeks post c-section and had brown spotting on and off for about 2 weeks after that. I remember times when it tapered right off, I would be in the middle of feeding and feel a gush of blood. My gp said it was normal and to only be concerned if it smelt bad as that could be a sign of infection.

Sounds pretty normal, I bled for nearly 8 weeks post c/s and the same length of time for my vbac. As Happymum2 said, if concerned, have it checked.
AF came back around 12 weeks for both too.

Make sure you're not overdoing things. I also had a c-section and the bleeding tapered off but then came back when I tried to do too much walking. Just rest a bit more and it should settle down. If you soak more than a pad an hour see a doctor.

Thanks everyone. Going to call ob tomorrow as now 3 days of heavy bright red bleeding and I'm fairly confident it's not my period coming back. I probably am doing too much (can't help myself!) but think it's worth checking in.

Update - bleeding wasn't normal. I have partially retained placenta and need surgery to remove it unfortunately
