I weighed myself this morning after a fast and I haven't lost anything since last week. I'm definitely going to try harder on my non fast days from now on. I know the rule for this plan says you can eat normally on those days, but my loss has been pretty slow. Maybe it's because I don't have much to go or I've reached a plateau? I'm going to have to be a little stricter now I think. I might get some diet shake powder today and do a couple of meal replacement days this week.
On the weekend my mum took me clothes shopping for my upcoming birthday and I bought some gorgeous new spring/summery clothes, all of which were a little too snug when I tried them on.. Eeep. But any bigger they'd be hanging off me in a couple of months, so definitely a little motivator there for me. A kg or two loss will see them fitting beautifully 😃

oh def a good motivator. I bought a pair of low rise size 10 jeans last week. I can do them up but a big too snug yet lol I knew I wouldn't quite be there based on my weight when I used to be size 10 but I bought them as a motivator.

Simple calorie restriction doesn't work for me. I feel starved, then I binge and feel guilty. With low carb I feel full and I can maintain it. The first 2 days you feel like sh*t, you have to push past that. Once you hit ketosis the body has burned through it's carbs and starts to burn fat. My appetite drops off. I lose 1.5kg a week when I'm strict, 1kg a week when I have a cheat day and I'm not even exercising atm.

Google Ketogenic diet. It is high fat low carb, but it's actually when your body hits that point and it usually takes 2-3 days to burn the carb stores. Rather than feeling yuck I feel so much better without carbs, not all sluggish and yuck.

eta - if we go out I order protein and salad/veg or egg. So a quiche, steak and veg, fish and salad etc.
That is really interesting. I'm going to try it today. So far I've had porridge with skim milk. For dinner I'll have a quiche and salad.

Wait... @delirium are oats/porridge OK to have for a low carb diet?

It does have carbs but they are complex carbs unlike bread so they are low GI. I'm not a breakfast eater, never have been, my brekie consists of pod coffee. But low carb options are bacon and eggs, boiled/poached eggs.

    This gives lots of options

Phoar! Just had a look through that link, it all looks absolutely delish! I have to start getting more creative and think outside the square, low carb can be really good if I make the effort like that. All I think of when I hear no/low carb is meat and salad!

Always hard to stay on track when travelling for work. As a bonus I get to walk a few kms of new sewer alignment tomorrow.

I've cut out carbs. They are my worst enemy. I've gone from a size 14 to a firm fitting 10 by following low carb high fat.
Will explain how I lost 19kg once I'm on my PC later xo
