    Life has gone a little pear shaped. Rushed down to Brisbane on Sunday as my dad had a stroke. Hard to eat well and exercise when spending your days in a hospital room. As I was rushing didn't pack suitable clothes, so bought some jeans yesterday and they were a size smaller than the ones I left at home.

    my weighin today, was the same as last week, 73.7, im ok with that, because I have been babysitting and missed a few gym sessions. now I have this new 'chip' thing, so I can focus on each workout, and make the most of the gym time. im feeling good as I get closer to my first gaol of 10 kgs lost. marie.

    I'm doing the Optifast program, and am currently in week 2 of the 'intensive' phase. I have 3 Optifast products, then 2-4 cups of low starch vegetables and 2lt of water a day. I dropped 2.5kg in my first week, so if I can keep up those numbers that would be amazing, but I'll settle for 1kg a week drop.

    SW: 91.8kg
    CW: 89.3kg
    GW: 60kg
    Okay, so today marks the end of week 4 on Optifast. All is going well, doing the 3 products a day plus 2-3 cups of low carb, low starch vegetables and 2lt water a day. I don't feel hungry and have not been tempted at all by other foods. Though I am really, really missing animal based proteins. Bacon, chicken, eggs *drool* oh, and avocado! They are the things I miss the most.

    My last 3 weigh-ins haven't been that great, however. Each week the amount of weight lost is decreasing, though I have been assured that this often happens around this time, and then you often end up with a big drop in weight. So that is what's going on. But my numbers so far have been:

    21/8/15 - 91.8 (start weight)
    28/8/15 - 89.3kg (2.5kg loss)
    4/9/15 - 88.3kg (1kg loss)
    11/9/15 - 87.4kg (900g loss)
    18/9/15 - 86.9kg (500g loss)

    500g-1kg weight loss a week is actually a sustainable and realistic weight loss and gives you a much better chance at keeping it off in the future.

    Since you're on a meal replacement program even if you kept dropping 2.5kg a week, as soon as you go back to proper food it will all just go straight back on.
    Yep, I realise it was mostly water weight the first week, but I *should* be losing more than I am doing this program. So I checked my ketones and I'm too far into ketosis for it to be most effective, so I'm going to try introducing an egg a day to see if the extra protein/cals drop me back into mild ketosis

    Weighed in today at 70kg again so no movement at all - I haven't been very good though so at least I suppose I didn't gain anything!

    Not much of a loss this week but at least the trend is downward! Had a shocker on the weekend with food - too much vino and junk.

    Start of a new week and back on the straight and narrow...

    Hi everyone,

    Haven't posted in here in ages and for good reason - I've gotten off track. But thankfully in the past week gotten my sh*t together and am back at 80kgs. Going to fast today. So sick of being in the '80s'. I have a family holiday coming up next month and would be ecstatic if I was around the 77kg mark.

    @misskittyfantastico hope you're ok

    @Marigold are you still fasting?

    I haven't posted in a while either.
    Mostly because I've been sitting at the same weight for most of September but this week things have picked up again. I am TOTALLY putting this down to being stress free with the kids off school.
    Finally SMASHED the 70 mark, 60s here I come
    HAHA, barely in the 60s but it's all about the head space.

    SW 71.8
    Last Entry 70.5
    Current W 69.5

    End of week 5 and stats are now:

    21/8/15 - 91.8 (start weight)
    28/8/15 - 89.3kg (2.5kg loss)
    4/9/15 - 88.3kg (1kg loss)

    18/9/15 - 86.9kg (500g loss)
    25/9/15 - 85.5kg (1.4kg loss)

    Think things may be back on track, I did up my protein, but only a little. Over the course of the week, along with my vegetables I also had 1 poached egg, 1 grilled chicken tenderloin and quarter of a chicken schnitzel. I also decided, in line with 'everything in moderation', that on Wednesday night I would join the rest of the family for pizza night, I had 1 slice of pizza and 1 piece of garlic bread and then I was full, oh things have changed

    So despite the pizza and garlic bread (carbs - the biggest thing I'm supposed to avoid on Optifast), I still managed a really good loss for the week. I definitely think I was too far into ketosis/starvation in the previous weeks, so I'll stick to adding in extra animal protein a few times a week.
