I can't believe anyone would actually defend that site.

    That shocks me

How anyone can down play adultery

I have no idea what you mean. I was a family lawyer for a few years when I first got my law degree. I think I've filed about 150 divorces. I know the law about this but I'm not sure what your point is.

Who's defending the site? I just think it's a bigger picture than saying public shaming is the answer.

I am not defending the site. Not at all.

But I could care less about two adults and what they do privately which is legal. Honestly some of the stuff I've read on this site over the years has made me blanch and wonder what is going on for someone to post things that they do. Do I have the right to publicly out them and ruin their lives because I have a moral objection to what they believe or are doing?

Exactly. It's got nothing to do with the site.

I'm just going to keep thanking everything Sonja and HGL say because it sums up exactly how I feel but is far more eloquent.

My point is the ins and outs of the law on divorce doesn't matter. If someone goes on Asheley Madison and cheats on their spouse, if that spouse then wants a divorce they will get one... (And so they should IMO).

I don't think public shaming is the answer either but honestly go around cheating and lying and u have it coming to you one way or another.

And yes posts have come across sounding very much like they r defending the site and the practice of cheating on ones spouse / partner

Comments like " what, is this the 1900s?" and suggestions we should just turn a blind eye to this kind of behavior as its none of our business.

Behavior that tears families apart, impacts children's lives deeply and attacks the fabric of society should never b brushed under the carpet.

    Just my opinion tho.

But, I personally do care. I guess thats the difference.

What about children that are deeply hurt and affected by their parents break up?

We are talking about actions that destroy peoples lives and destroy families.

I care. But I'm not saying publicly outing anyone is right by any means.
