Firstly, congratulations to you and your family. I just wanted to respond to your question about reduction. I think every single one of those babies growing inside you, is a very precious miracle and blessing. I truly believe they have been sent to you and your husband for a reason, so my answer to your question is - nurture and treasure them and leave it in the hands of God (I'm not a religious nut, just a mum who has lost a child at age five and a half, and who has to believe that she's in a beautiful happy place and is being looked after and loved until her daddy and I can hold her again).
Since our daughter's death three years ago, I have seen a medium and I'm firmly of the opinion that the time when we leave this earth, is all pre-determined and planned out, for whatever reason. I honestly believe that these five little babies have been sent to you for a really special reason. I know that having five babies will surely turn your whole world upside down, but please hold onto each of them and let them enrich your lives. From the very depths of my heart, I wish you a trouble free pregnancy, and five healthy and happy babies in your arms in the months to come. I look forward to following your journey.

As a pp said it's hard to know what you would do until you are in that situation and even then depending on individual circumstances at the time. I'm inclined to say I would want to keep them all.

I wouldn't reduce no. I remember Mary Coustas the Australian actress and her story of years of infertility when she finally got pregnant with triplets she was told to reduce so she did and then lost the remaining baby.

Maybe you should contact a higher order multiple group? Then you could meet some families and see the struggles they face when things don't go so well. Not to say that will happen to you but it would be good to see it from that side too. Good luck with your decision xx

One of the ladies in my DIG had four heartbeats at her early scan, they were offered selective reduction and decided against it. At the 12 weeks scan there were three heartbeats. She went on to have healthy triplets.

It's a very difficult decision to have to make and very scary either way!

I wouldn't reduce, especially knowing the method! Plus I'd be scared I'd lose the remaining one(s). So much to think about for you OP xx

I would not reduce (ESP after hearing above method) I would let nature run it's course. Of course you have to consider yourself medically as well as how the babies develop in the coming months! Good luck! Keep us updated, this is exciting!

The risks are crazy though, the chances of coming out with 5 relatively healthy babies is rare. The risks of stillbirth, miscarriage, cerebral palsy, heart and lung defects plus severe disability resulting from extreme prematurity is very high. It's not just a simple decision about how you would "cope". It's about knowing the risks and deciding what option gives you the highest chance of the best outcome. It's so hard and I really feel for you OP xx.

I would not be able to reduce.

I would have to let nature take its course.
