Thanks MusicalGirl, scary indeed but care at local hospital had been nothing short of amazing- feel that no matter how it goes they will manage it

    Great to hear Cathy!
My hips are giving me jip. Such a grandma! Hate to think what they'll be like in 10 more weeks! I'm only 20w.

Has anyone looked into books re twins? I used the Dream Baby Guide methods for DS and i guess I'll adapt the same theories to the twins, just wondered if anyone had heard?

    Default Hello

Hi everyone, thought I'd get brave and join in the chats. We're expecting our identical twins sometime in April (mid May is 40 wks), they will be number 3 and 4 for us, our eldest will be 3 1/2 and our DS will be almost 2. I am so excited about our news, but I have to admit I'm a little nervous about how everything will go when they arrive. Hopefully I'll pick up a few tips from those of you whose babies arrive before ours 😊.

    Hello @Busynow and welcome! !
Yes i guess u are gonna be busy now! Lol. Even tho with 2 young kids i suspect you already were! We've got a DS too who will JUST have turned 2 when the twins arrive. Gotta admit I'm a little nervous too. I remember how much time he took up as newborn, how on earth will i run HIM and the twins? ! Or sleep when the babies sleep, which was soooo necessary. 😯 i guess we're about to find out!
I'm due 30 April, but they say twins come about a month early, so i guess maybe end of march?

    Growing !

How are you going Hopeful ? Are you on BP meds now ? Did it make a difference to how you were feling ?

My feet and hands are now puffing up (feet more so) which is annoying but OB says they are nothing in comparison to a few of his patients with singletons so that was reassuring.

If anyone in sydney is looking at pre-natal classes ..... I found out that North Shore Private Hospital adapts their prenatal classes so that twins/multiples are covered in a special final class for those in the multiples boat. They do it once a month and I met a girl recently who did it and said it was excellent. If you aren't in Sydney, might be worthwhile looking around at your big hospitals.... oh and I hadn't ralised but you don't have to do classes at the hospital you are going to. NSP for eg are happy for you to come along to their multiples class and just pay for that one, not do the whole course if you don't want to.

    Hi Cathy!

Am on meds now and getting really closely monitored- which is great.

Feel for you with the puffy feet - sure the hot weather is planning a part in it.

Am ok this week apart from some annoying headaches that are hard to shift with panadol. It's making me more ready by the day to have the bubs.

Excellent tips on the parent classes- cheers

Going OK. Only 21 weeks here and get so tired by lunchtime, insomnia, sore hips and swollen feet. It's getting harder and harder just to do every day stuff like clean the kitchen and tidy up after ds 22 months! Sigh.

Is everyone here doing a cesarean? Anyone going thru the public hospital system? I'm seeing a private OB thru the pregnancy but looks like i might have to have the babies at the public hospital.
