    We offered both. In the initial days of TT, I would put the potty in front of the TV to encourage her to stay on it for a while. But beyond that, she wasn't really interested in it and preferred the normal toilet with a step and smaller seat over it.

    Thanks for all the responses! I took DD with me to Baby Bunting yesterday to pick out her "toilet" aka potty. We just got a $10 one with a high back on it. As soon as we got home she took off her tracksuit pants and nappy pants and sat on it. She did so numerous times throughout the afternoon/evening too. At least she has options now and I am happy to work with her preference.

    I am so proud of our DD! Yesterday while I was out & DD was at home with DH she used her potty and did a wee for the first time!! She used it again later once I was home too! She got up and went and got the potty from the bathroom without saying a word, undressed, sat in it & 30 seconds later told me she was done & got a wipe for herself!! She knew she needed to go! We don't officially start TT until Saturday but this is a great start!
