This is but one reason why we don't do play dough in this house. (Luckily they have an aunt only to happy to fill the void )
I can't stand the smell or texture either, but mainly the colour mixing!

I always have to wash my hands immediately after touching it. I think it might be different if it was one I made myself but the commercial stuff is gross.

I used to seperate it and it wasn't too hard until they squeezed it in together. Then I learnt to appreciate the random swirls of colour and now I like it.

I'm an even meaner mummy because I don't let my dd play with that. It is better that way. It would send me over the edge.

This is why I always make my own. I make a huge batch of it then break it into 6 or 8 balls and give the kids those fat medical syringes filled with different food colours. And glitter. Then I let them go for it.

I used to care about the colours when I only had one kid and we bought play dough but I don't care anymore. And with making our own I just bin it after a few days anyway.

I would love to not have playdough in the house. Lol. Dd's therapists laugh at me because we're trying to overcome her sensory defensiveness. ..by playing with playdough and other gross putty slime stuff. ... and I hate it! !!!!
I'm like 'I don't like touching the stuff and I turned out okay! !'
