Default Truck drivers. Is your DP/DH (or yourself) one?

Particularly owner drivers / tautliners. Im getting worried because DH is working for a big well known company in Melbourne and they keep reducing the owner drivers rate of pay and now their hours.
I have no idea if this is an industry problem or just this company.
    Anyone else feeling this?

Not DH (although we own our own trucks for the farm) but a colleagues DP works for a big interstate truck company and I haven't heard anything like that - we are pretty open about all sorts of stuff in the office.

Good. Well maybe its just the company he works for.
Maybe he'll need to look for another contract in/around melb that needs a 12 pallet tautliner.

If he signed a contract they can't reduce his rate of pay.

Wasn't a contract. It was a work agreement. He's a subcontractor. Apparently they can somehow :-(
