Default How to restrain 13 month old for a nappy change

What is the best way to physically restrain a 13 month old so you can dress/undress them or change their nappy?

Im changing him on the floor now cause the change table is too dangerous but im still struggling.

I kneel down with one knee each side of him so i can try & hold him like that leaving my hands free. Its not really working.

He has special toys only for change time, ive tried a mobile, empty wipes packet, container for nappy rash cream etc. He just will not stay still. And he puts his feet in his mouth, so i need to hold his legs down with one hand & restrain both his hands with the other hand, but then how do i put his nappy or clothes on?

Number 2's take two people - one to change nappy & one to restrain him. If im by myself i end up with poo all over him, me & the floor.

And tips for out & about in parents rooms etc where i cant really change him on the floor

No idea. I still have problems with my very active 16 month old. I'll be following this...

I hold my son down and dress/change him as quickly as I can. Make sure I have everything ready.

How do I hold a phone & change him? Yes it will keep his attention but if i give it to him he'll either eat it or throw it

You don't need to physically restrain him, you just need to learn to be quick and just deal with it tbh, it's yet another one of those joys of toddlers!

Following for my 17 month old. He can be so horrible during nappy changes. "Just being quick" DOES NOT cut it!!

I can't be much quicker. It takes longer cause hes lying on his tummy or arching his back etc. I have everything ready before I start. Im ready to just not bother with nappies anymore. Last nappy change he crawled around the room half naked while i cried. Hes impossible & horrible & i cant do this anymore
