I only just saw this. What a terrible thing to happen to your little one Sending lots of healing vibes that she gets over this as easily as is possible.

So, DD pulled all of her hair out last night! Eek! I was so worried about how she would react, but last night she started pulling it out after I showed her a chunk coming out. Then she was giggling saying "I got a haircut!", so it made me giggle too and we had a laugh together. She wanted to borrow my little mirror that I keep in my handbag, and she wouldn't give it back and then slept with the mirror by her side all night.

We should be able to go home on Tuesday. She was taken off the morphine this morning as she is improving a lot. She's able to eat again so the ulcers must be on the mend. It's horrible to think that just as she gets a bit better again they'll hit her with the next chemo round
If we go home on Tuesday it'll mean we don't even get a full week at home as we're back the following Monday for chemo.

To top it off now I've developed a cold in the last 24 hours so I now have to be vigilant with washing my hands and I will keep my distance a bit from DD. No getting up close for kisses and cuddles until I'm better.

Thanks for all the messages, it's lovely and I do read them all xxx

He's really sweet with DD. Her getting sick has brought out the big softie in him.

I am really teary about her hair, I know it's silly it's only hair and it will grow back but she has lovely hair and if you are anything like me I was in heaven as soon as DDs got long enough to do anything with, it's just another insult of cancer.

Always thinking about you all, I am hoping she gets as many well days in as possible before the next round xxxxxxx

Yeah it's one of the totally horrible parts about chemo. DD's hair also to AGES to grow long, she was a bald baby for a long time! And she had such beautiful, fine blonde hair. When they sat us down to tell us her diagnosis, I was relieved to know that the cure rate is really good, but when I asked "Will her hair fall out?" and they said yes, that was the part where I had to fight back tears. I know it'll grow back, but it's also the first real visual sign that she's fighting cancer. Until now it felt a bit surreal, but it feels all too real now.
