Default 2 sacks in a early ultrasound

I went for another scan today to doublecheck dates and i am 5 weeks 4 days along and the technician said there were 2 sacks but nothing in them. What does this mean?? i'm really scared but i understand that you can't see bub this early is that right? I am going back for another scan in 2 weeks or so and i'm booking a drs appt for tomorrow. Please reassure me that it's ok to not see a baby or anything but empty sacks this early? My hcg is so high and doubling so thats a good thing right?

We only saw our babies that early at 5 weeks 6 days through an internal ultrasound, it wasnt for another week that each baby was been through the external way. Did you have an internal one?

Hi unicorns I've been following your journey since you first come to Bub hub! Congrats on this pregnancy. You're still only early so don't stress quite yet. 2 sacs would generally suggest a twin pregnancy and it would make sense with your HCG being so high. I'm currently pregnant with twins and had very high HCG numbers around 4-6 weeks. You will know much more at your next scan. Sending lots of positive wishes your way x

Hi unicorns, I had a scan at the same gestation with my twins - saw the same thing you described. Only externally though, I was actually having a scan to check my kidneys and the tech did a quick check of my uterus. It was far too early to see bubs at that age.
2 weeks later there was a baby in each sac, hearts beating away. Now they are very boisterous, loving 4 year olds.
    All the best Hun xx

    Congratulations Luv!!

Yes, it's far too early to see HB's at this stage Around the 6w3d mark at the earliest. You HCG doubling is exactly what they want to see at this early stage. Things do change in that regard when you're a little bit further along

Wishing you and your bubs a healthy, happy pregnancy Luv!! Good Luck!!
