If your child was invited to a birthday party by a child in their class and to a family picnic to celebrate their grandparents birthday, which would you go to?

Really good friend? I would go to their party and do something separate and special with grandparent.

How old is your child? Old enough to know they will miss out?

    Primary school or daycare?
If it was school I would go to that one; it helps to develop friendships that will last years. Parties are given priority in our house.

Daycare, no. They are often short-while friends.

For our family - school friend's party for sure. Their grandparents would rather we let them go to the school birthday party too (we've had these conversations).

Definitely the grandparents for us! We also put family events first, but we do have a very close knit family. Maybe if it worked out, dh or I would take the child to the party for an hour first & then go to the picnic after, depending on times, etc.

Always family first. It would have to be a best friend for us to skip or reduce our time at a family event.

Try and do both? I would probably be more inclined to go to the friends party as I wouldn't want my kids to miss out.. Your child can always see their grandparent after the party.

Grandparents. Family always comes first for us. Depending on times, maybe both but if they clash definitely grandparents over friends.
