Yep it does do the same as a slow cooker and it is much nicer on the table when having guests - I love my Le Creuset dishes!

Only down side is that with an electric slow cooker I feel fine leaving it on while at work all day. With the oven version (Le Creuset/Chassuer) I would only use them when at home.

We have that one in blue! But it's getting quite old and I'm not trusting our oven too much when we are away during the day. It's a fierce oven and often I have to work hard at getting stuff off the lid - not sure if it's the spices or what spitting up and getting stuck there. I don't think stuff got stuck when it was newer. It's had a fair workout.

I'll still use it when I'm home, and I do like what it does to roasts.

It also wasn't quite big enough last night for the casserole I made and I had to use another dish as well.

DH and I were wondering today what size it was. Do you think 4 or 5L? Trying to work out what size slow cooker from that.

I haven't been able to get to the shops to see them there yet, but I've read a lot online. The one I was going to go for -the 6L Breville a lot of people said they had problems with the digital screen going blank just after it was out of warranty. It probably seemed the closest to the banquet one that you have. I want to check out Target before I purchase another sort just in case they still have them, but it wasn't on their website.
One of the sunbeam one's coating came off - can't remember which now though. There are some $200 ones but I want to try and get one cheaper than that!
