    My twins were Mono-Di and ultrasound looked the same. Di di looks like 2 separate black parts on the ultrasound with each baby in separate parts. Mono Di looks like they are in one sac (black part) but you can see a thin sac separating them within the one black part ( sorry hope I am making sense) I was told my twins were Di Di for nearly half my pregnancy, I had a feeling they were mono Di (identical) after researching and finally I got a doctor that had a look & told me they were definitely identical. I realised during my twin pregnancy that not many medical people (that I came across anyway) knew much about twins.

    -just wanted to add that they don't look mono mono as you can see the thin sac seperating them if you look really close.. If there are definitely 2 placentas they would be Di Di but the scan does look Mono Di
