Hope you get your answer soon. Fingers crossed for you.
The MRI will pick up anything up better. You go in a machine laying face down and they have boob holes and you just dangle. Quite loud in there but they give you headphones and play music.
Unfortunately the MRI is not medicare covered and I think it's $450ish.
I had a couple last year for my breast cancer (before my mastectomy).
I would do everything you can as early as possible. You are NOT too young. You have a high family history. I don't want to scare you but in my bc support group there are 18yo's. There is a lady who knows of a 13yo. You are never too young.
Good luck, I hope it's all clear.
Got my app in mail today for clinic it's on 10/10. So nervous my GP didn't even call me 😱
Just thought I would update.
My app was today I got the dates mixed up.
I am booked in for. MRI and then we go from there. So nervous he said my boobs felt fine though. I'm seeing the head surgeon. Phi came in handy for something for once!
Hope your mind is at ease soon.
Hope you feel at ease soon xx
I'm organising my appointment for a check up soon. They don't like to do mammograms on people under 40 as our breast tissue is too dense. I've been putting mine off but I will get it done before the end of the year.
