    @MGC Bertie - good luck tonight / tomorrow!! It's my due date as well, so a lovely day for bubs to be born. 😄

    Suspect I'll be waiting until a bit later in the week.

At the hospital they hooked me up for monitoring and promptly told me my pains were contractions.... very surprised as they just seemed like period pains??? The contractions started at 2 minutes apart, then 5 mins, then 15 mins, then 30mins, then stopped!! Go figure!! Trust my body to do the opposite of what it's meant to.

    Spent most of the day waiting for my ob to show up, who told us his plan - if baby girl doesn't come naturally overnight, then it's a c-section tomorrow (Mon) afternoon. He said, since my waters have broken, that it's too risky to give me the drugs for an induction for a natural birth. So she'll be born one way or other tomorrow at 36w 4d - bit earlier than we were expecting, but there you go.
    Yay!!! Snap, same birthdate! 😄 Unless you're just about to push out your bubba girl in the next few minutes, our kiddo's will share the same day......August 3rd sounds like a great day to be born hey?! 😝 My waters broke on their own with my dd which meant that I couldn't get the tape or gel induction but I/you can still get the drip induction, no probs. I did end up with a very non-emergency "emergency" c-section though I know lots of ladies who did the same and went on to have great fast vag births. However your birth story ends up, wishing you the very very best and that it ends up the best birth for you and bub with no regrets ☺️ Enjoy those first amazing cuddles.....I can't even believe the day is even here and I made it this far, I bet you feel the same?! I'm going in at 11:30am for a 1pm c-section 😬 No idea how I'm supposed to get any sleep tonight!!! See you on the mother-side...😘😘😘

    Hey @bbhope my diabetes doc gave me my Accuchek Performa free as well, seems like that’s the model we get as a freebie. Like @MGC Bertie said, it could be something dodgy out there LOL. As I mentioned, I test 2 hours after lunch & dinner, but that’s 2 hours from when I finish eating, not when I first started! I’m probably doing it wrong but since I’ve been doing it this way since June I better stick with it. So your diabetic educator wants you to test 1 hour after meal. I suppose you could test again at the 2nd hour but that would be annoying I suppose, not to mention you’d go through the test strips much quicker. Maybe ask her why she prefers 1 hour testing as opposed to 2?

    @MGC Bertie
    – OMG, your waters broke? Best of luck with everything, can’t wait to hear about the arrival of your little girl.

    @lileitak
    – wow, you’re so close, any day now! So exciting

    @Beeanksta
    – such wonderful news on the birth of Ashwin, congratulations. Hope he can get out of special care nursery soon

    @Ladydee – best wishes on the safe arrival of your little bub. Happy Monday xxx

    AFM – I start parenting classes tomorrow! I know I have a DS already but I feel like a new mum, I’ve forgotten everything!

    My goodness its all action on here today!
    @McG Bertie can't wait to hear your good news, hope your birth experience is what you hoped for.
    @Ladydee you're a mummy by now, looking forward to photos. Hope your c-section went well, I'm surprised how much better my recovery has been than expected. So excited for you
    @lilietak any news yet? Did your little man suddenly decide to make an appearance today? What plan did you Ob come up with? I hope you get to meet your little man soon.

    Hope everyone else is doing well.

    AFM - bub is nearly 2 weeks old and doing pretty well. He is adorable. The last two days though he has decided its fun to be awake from 9am-to about 2-3pm, just will not sleep. He is mostly quiet and settled, and will lie in his bassinet just chilling only stirring for a feed every few hours. Any awesome settling ideas would be most welcome. We have our next health nurse visit on Wednesday so will chat to her about it.

    Thanks @KayzB!

    Nothing yet, but all went well at my OB appt today. In addition to monitoring she did an exam and a sneaky "stretch & sweep". Apparently my cervix is ready, and she hopes I go into spontaneous labour this week.

    But because bubs growth has levelled off and my fluids are low I'm getting booked in for induction Saturday morning if nothing happens.

    Very happy to have an end date. 😀

    I'm trying to cram in as much as I can before he's here. Thinking a nice massage and manicure tomorrow would be nice. 😀
