    Default After surgery TTC

I had Laparoscopy, hysterosopy, D&C and dye test done on the 20th of July 2015. I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I have appointment to see my doctor and talk more about my results in 3 weeks but what she said on the phone was that she found couple patches of endometriosis, 3 cm chocolate cyst on the left ovary and my left fallopian tube was particularly blocked. She fixed everything I believe.

We have TTC for almost 3 years now. I am 27 and my husband is 35. I just want to know your experience if you have had similar situation?

How long it took you to get pregnant and if you had regular cycle right after the surgery?

I am also worried because the doctor said that I will need to try for another 6 month and then do IVF if its not successful, is that normal or does it depend on what they have found?

Hi I had a lap in July last year after TTC for 3 years. I got my bfp 6 weeks after my lap, but unfortunately it ended in miscarriage. I definitely believe it helped me finally get pregnant though!

Thank you for your reply. I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage but Im glad the surgery helped you to conceive Did you have to wait 4 weeks as well before TTC again? Its hard for me to stay positive after trying for so long

I know how hard it can be to stay positive, I wasn't positive at all! I didn't wait 4 weeks, only 2 weeks. My cycle was normal afterwards. I haven't been able to conceive again since, and have had 2 ivf cycles so am booking in for another lap to see if that does the trick!

    Hi Kim85,

Good luck with IUI. Did you find out that your cervical mucus was hostile during the surgery?

Is it normal after the surgery that you will see the doctor once and she will send you to ttc for the next 6 month without monitoring you between those months? And if that doesnt work then its time for IVF? Im just confused how this goes. I know everyone is individual and have different situation but I want to do this right way.

Were you having regular periods before surgery? I wasnt so I was on clomid to make me ovulate.
Then after surgery I got referred to a fertility clinic to monitor my eggs maturing and found out I wasnt going to release eggs ob my own so needed a trigger shot (didnt know this until at fertility clinic)
Then my doc ordered a post coital test which is like a pap smear u have sex that night then in morning they take a swab to see what the sperm is doing in your mucus around ovulation.. Thats where we found all dead sperm and dh then did a sperm test which came out really good.. So then we knew we had to bipass the mucus so they will do iui this month while im still having ultrasound and blood tests to monitor when I will o.. So all timed perfect.

If your not happy with what u have been told then ask to be referred to a fertility clinic and atleast then u will know if your eggs are mature and releasing at the right time and go from there..

Yes, I am having regular periods but my doctor said after the surgery my period can be irregular for few months. This doctor I am seeing now is a fertility specialist which my GP referred me to go to see. I think I just need to speak to her and find out more...
