    Default Fertility specialist Melbourne HELP

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a good company/person that can help me in Melbourne city.

I currently live in Launceston and am seeing someone but I am feeling like she doesn't take any notice in me and we I have an appointment it is 5mins and I can't ask any questions.

DH and I have been TTC for 2.5 years and I currently take the highest level of clomid, with me falling pregnant in April, but sadly loosing it a few weeks later at 6 weeks. I am now back on clomid with D21 bloods.

When talking to the FS last time she was about to jump me to IVF but I want to know more options, and think there could be more options before IVF as I have ovulated before on clomid, once at the highest dose, and also once on a lower dose.

I am just feeling like I want more communication and I want to be able to ask questions, where I feel like I can't with this lady, not to mention this isn't necessarily her speciality. There isn't much help in little old Launceston, let alone Tassie, so thinking I try my luck in Melbourne.

My parents live in Melbourne city, so the city would help as I won't have a car... so at least I will save on accommodation and am hoping my work is going to be flexible, which I think they will be, but if not I may be looking at resigning.

I look at 'City Fertility' which is in Melbourne and other places, but wanting some more info and first hand info from you guys...

    Thanks heaps !!!

Lyn burmeister at Monash. She is based at the epworth hospital on bridge Rd Richmond so an easy team from the CBD. More expensive than city fertility but better success rates so probably cheaper in the long run. There's a bit of a wait to get in as a new patient. If you google her you will see heaps of articles on her. She is amazing and most of the other FS consult with her for advice.

    Good luck!

I would say Monash IVF too. I saw Nick Lolatgis, also at the Epworth.

Definitely Monash. I was referred to Lynn by my GP (pure luck) and she is great. Get on the wait list if you're flexible enough. It's worth it.

Tho, there are some other great FS at monash too.

I am 10w pregnant from our first cycle of IVF through City Fertility. The whole experience with the clinic and our specialist was excellent.

The nurses were wonderful and the facilities were great. There is always a bowl of chocolates, and special tea brewing for patients. Dr David Wilkinson was just incredible and we felt so incredibly comfortable with him. If you're still looking at CFC go for it and if you can, see Dr Wilkinson good luck

City fertility have an open day next week and was thinking about whether it was worth flying over for?! I got a information packet from them but wasn't sure if the next step of the session was worth it.....

Also have no idea the next step etc.... Maybe I should visit my doc! My DH thinks I should see if Hobart has anything but I've never heard of anything which worries me!

I know I need to be patient but it's been 2.5 years and I'm not excited about 'trying' different people and kinda just want to go straight to where I hear great results as I know I can ovulate on clomid as I did last time and fell pregnant.....

Thanks for all the help guys- I really appreciate it!!!!

Congratulations on taking this next step though. It's very exciting.
To be honest I wouldn't bother flying over for an open day. My DP and I went and it was great but nothing we couldn't have googled on line. If you do become a patient they will give you a lab tour and all that if you like anyway.

Your first step will need to be to get a referral from your GP and then ring up the clinic to make your initial appointment.

It seems really daunting at first but once you're there it all makes sense and feels a lot more comfortable.
