My FS is happy to give me all that stuff if I choose to do it. When do you start on the clexane ? I think they charged me about $15 for it in CT, whats it worth over here ?

You take it from 1 day prior to transfer. It's $36 for a box if 10 (40mg) from memory

Just spoke to my FS about going on clexane and prednisone and he thinks the risks of clexane outweigh and 'unproven' benefits. Apparently it significantly thins the blood to a point where he thinks is risky especially when travelling overseas. Similarly with prednisone he says the side effects (he has been on it) outweigh any unproven benefits. Having said that though, he will still prescribe them if I really want them, but he's also going to have a chat to the other Dr's at my old ivf clinic to see what their take on it is, then get back to me next week. I'm going to start on low dose aspirin today as a start anyway.
    So many conflicting opinions...

I think most stop at 12w but I have a clotting disorder so I'm a bit different. In my pregnancy though I had a big bleed at 6w and was taken off it, if that had not happened I would have stayed on my whole pregnancy.

Actually, you'd think it would be more of a benefit in cutting down the risk of DVT when travelling o/seas wouldn't you?

Well, I just hope he doesn't change his mind about prescribing for you if the other Dr's at your old clinic aren't in favour. This is where a ph consult with Dr M would be beneficial because he'd work out a protocol for you to take and if he's anything like Wazza would either post the scripts to you in the mail or else your FS here could write out the scripts at the appropriate dosages that he decided for you.

The usual dose for clexane is 1x30mg-40mg injection a day. Prednisone is anywhere from 10-20mg's a day taken in the morning and baby aspirin is 1 tab a day. Again, it should be tailored to you but you can do a basic one like I did with Wazza and @midnite01 did with hers.

Fair enough that science may not be able to prove it unequivocally at this point in time, but IMO there's too much anecdotal evidence to show there has to be something to it and I know which way I'd rather be going in terms of taking it or not.

ETA- Wazza keeps you on it all until 12wks though I weaned off them at 10 wks in preparation for the CVS at 12wks.
