@Charlie74 The fact they're able to be tested is a major achievement Luv😊

Not all embryo's are suitable for testing..same with freezing. Nope..I wouldn't be worried about them growing an extra day. It's pretty common to do that. Some embies just need a little bit of extra time😊

midnite great news that you will have a transfer soon.

Congrats on the great levels Chiefsgirl. I am also thinking both have stuck around.

Charlie74 sorry to hear that your transfer had to be cancelled. Not an issue at all regarding the embryos. I also had 6 embryos morning of day 5. I was told 1 was ready to be tested, 3 would probably get there later that day or the following day, 1 may not get there for testing but as per my wishes would be frozen as it was good quality and one would most likely be discarded. I received a call about 4pm on day 6 to be told 4 were biopsied and now frozen. I am not due for blood test till tomorrow but it looks like one of my normals have stuck. I have no idea if the one that implanted was the one looking good for testing morning of day 5, or tested day 6.

Corbes that is a fantastic result to get 3 normals from 7 embryos.

Winsor and tuxcat I hope you are both hanging in there. I well and truly thought I was out and had a good cry on Saturday night when I thought my period had started. Even now I feel like I am going to get my period any minute.

    Hi to everyone else

    Default IVF over 40 #15

The one that wasn't going to get there for testing, I went in on day 5 and had it transferred. It had just started to hatch at the time of transfer. My husband and the embryologist thought I was odd but I thought I may have to try it untested at some stage so may as well do it fresh rather than pay for a frozen transfer.

The embryologist that called me on day 3 was really helpful (I take it you use Hawthorn or do you go to Clayton?) she said they may not be able to catch enough cells for testing. It doesn't mean they would discard it as it is still good quality. I said that any that couldn't be tested but still looked good under the microscope were to be frozen. My 6th one was nowhere good enough to be frozen.

You should probably call your nurse today and ask her to let the lab know that if any don't make testing but still look good to freeze them, or ask your nurse to ask them to call you. I got the impression that if you don't ask for that it doesn't happen. I may be wrong on that though.

@Charlie74 an embryologist told me that to be frozen it had to show signs of expanding by day 6. I think to be tested though they have to be hatching on day 5 or day 6. So its feasible to get ones that are good enough to freeze but just haven't developed enough to be tested. It might be different clinic to clinic however.

Hi Bongley thank you! Yes, we got an unexpected frosty that we nicknamed The Afterthought as it was slower to grow but better looking thatn the transferred one

Anyone know what the policy is on transferring AFTER 45 years old? If this cycle doesn't work I would like to do another fresh one in SEP and keep the frosty on ice. I am 45 in OCT, anyone have experience here? I know everywhere will be different. I'm at RPA.
