Tahli, gestone injections look scarier than what they are, in actual fact little clexane inj. hurt whereas gestone don't, its just the thought of it because of the size.
I used a mirror and when i asked CFC about drawback to make sure i wasnt in a vessel she said you dont need to drawback tto check because there are no vessels where we have to jab. Get cfc to texta mark the spots on your butt so you know where to aim.
TBH.... i never even used the blue draw up syringe, I just drew up and injected with the green one.
Oh, wait till you have a squirter when you pull the injection out....they're fun!😊

You will get lumps in the area you inject. I stand with the warm shower directed on each side for a few mins before getting out then massage the area and it helps.

    Good luck xxx
You must be more flexible than me @Chiefsgirl cos I can't get two hands around there and I can't draw back with one hand ! Maybe I'm just a gumby..

Actually, while we are on the topic of the gestone injection, I've had no trouble with injecting it myself and have had very little pain doing it but over the last couple of days I've been finding about 12 hours after the injection my hip on the side i injected is in excruciating pain. To the point where i can't lie on my side and it hurts to sit or get up and down. The pain is towards the front of my hip near the hip flexer muscle. Has anyone else had this? Travelling home on the plane for 24hrs was horrible because of this.

You'll be fine doing it @Tahli - your nurse will run through it with you and draw the marks on your bum... it's pretty hard to hit your sciatic nerve when doing the yourself as you can't twist that far around.
Try molteno cottage too or airbnb for accommodation, we are renting a whole house for $105 per night for the majority of our stay - we are also staying at Cape Heritage Hotel in the city which is supposed to be very nice -168 a night on their own website.

Hahaha no not very flexible, and right is better than left side. I can do the draw back for the bubble thing one handed, this morning depressing the plunger thing took a while, maybe the house was colder so the oil thicker?

    Hello everyone

I am not usually on this thread but I read along for a while thinking that we might need to go to SA. I noticed that you are using gestone/progesterone in oil injection. Do you know if you can buy this in Australia?
I am a little bit desperate. We've just had egg donation in Czech Republic and I am currently pregnant (4w4d). HCG is rising nicely but my progesterone dropped to 25.6.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck to all the August ladies, I know that are plenty of you in SA atm.

    Thank you

HFAM, you can get it here, you just need to search hard for it. You need to call compound chemists until you find some.
Good luck with your search and congrats on your pregnancy.
PS. In the mean time, If you have pessaries insert them rectally as its supposed to work better. Its not as bad as you imagine and there's no leakage.

Thank you Miss Sagi. That's good if there is hope. I'll see what I can do.

    Hi Wazbub

So sorry to hear it is THAT painful - how unfortunate!!

This is going to sound a bit bizarre, but could it be related to a pregnancy symptom? I ask simply because one of my strongest early pregnancy symptoms (this time and last time) was feeling my ligaments hurt, which always felt like a jabbing pain in my abdomen and groin area - around the hip flexor.

Apparently it is quite common and it caused by our bodies releasing some hormone that allows our ligaments to stretch more easily. Google "round ligament pain".

As you are 7 days past transfer (I think) it's very possible that this is what you are feeling. For me it started a little bit at 4 days, then very strong at 5 days past transfer. Perhaps the gestone is aggravating it.

Other than this theory I don't know what to say, and I very much hope it gets better for you.

    Kay
