A super basic question girls...I have the initial CFC forms in front of me. Who 'referred' you to CFC? Do you need a referral if you're as Aussie patient & if so can your GP do it?
Yes some profiles certainly contain more information than others. With the Y generation and social media it's not hard to find some donors as adults. About 4 weeks after we chose our donor it Took my DH 15 mins to find our donors public Facebook page with the info she provided and she even had the same baby pics she used in her profile!

@Tahli is Kate your Monash nurse? If so you need to email Lynn's receptionists

I'm sorry @emski72, I should have been clearer. I meant Nurse Kate in Lynn's actual office. I think my own FN would direct me right back to Lynn's office. Thanks for the email address!
I've gone about this somewhat topsy turvy. I wanted to find an egg donor that lept out at me first and if I made that connection then I knew I could embrace DE. I found that special woman & now it seems to be happening very fast! She's available on my proposed dates which is in 4-6 wks (Vic school hols). Can it all really happen that swiftly with CFC.
Is there a difference in the FS's at CFC? I've exchanged a few emails with Dr Heylen as my donor has done 2 of her 4 cycles with him. I found him helpful but succinct. I've also had 1 initial email with Dr Matebese. She seemed lovely. But should I be aiming for Dr Wiswedel?
Aaand does every-one do ICSI-HA? Does it have a higher success rate?
Thanks for helping with the newbie questions!!

It's much of a muchness with the CFC drs, they do icsi, I've not heard of them doing HA icsi, shoot him an email and I'd also query your timeframe at the same time to see if it's do-able, they say it's normally 8-10weeks but I'm sure they can get it together. If your period is due soon I'd get on levlen bcp to make it easier.

So maybe stick with the lovely Dr Matebese? Ta, I've emailed her to ask if the success rates are higher with ICSI. Kimenthra said they do offer HA & they're seeing higher success rates with the embryoscope. I've queried exactly how much. I'm happy to do both.
If CFC will allow it I'll be doing a FET as I only have 7 days available (2 for flights & 5 for treatment). Apparently the success rate is 60% fresh transfer vs 55% FET, so the difference isn't as bad I thought. I have absolutely & utterly no idea how a FET works at this stage?!! I got a BFN beta today so period should be due soon.
Unfortunately my 1st choice sperm donor isn't available for ICSI, just IVF, hence me querying it so much. @Canuck1 your SD has been taken off the list so no donor siblings for us!!

Default Egg Donation in South Africa #10

@Tahli How can they not be available for icsi but can be for IVF? Once they donate, they walk away? What happens to their donation is irrelevant?

Hey @emski72, the vineyard charge R450 for a one way airport transfer. Surely a taxi is way cheaper than that for that distance ?
