Hi @Cathy69 Firstly, super congrats on being 14 wks with twins!!
I wonder what difference in success rates there is at CFC with fresh vs frozen transfer. I guess I need to call them to ask. I'd also like to know whether you can do gender selection for 'family balance' rather than for medical reasons. I'm totally up for the Embryoscope after seeing footage recently, absolutely amazing!
I've registered with the 4 egg donor clinics that @Charlie74 passed on to me & spent all morning going through profiles. After a few hours I realised I needed to get more disciplined. Only proven donors with the same hair/eye color as my 3 y/o son.
@Canuck Thanks for your welcome and wonderful advice! It looks like I'm looking at treading a very similiar path to you!! Did CFC have a list of sperm donors or did you have to use an outside agency? Are sperm donors in SA also anonymous?
I'm currently on the 2WW with a 3dt using my OEs and DS. It took me a bit to get my head around being comfortable creating a bub with a man I don't know, as such. So I think I'd need to schedule a counseling session to chat through using both DE & DS.
A quick fire survey...ladies, what was your egg donor cut off age?

Thanks @emski72 I wasn't sure if the 25-29 y/o age range was a grey area?!
You were the first to welcome me onto the IVF boards back in April & thus I followed your journey over onto this thread. If it wasn't for you I would have never have know CFC was even an option. Thank-you.
When you did your super speedy last trip out, did you only go for a week?

Hey Tahli, yeah the FET can be done in either 4 days if you have your lining scan done at home or 8 days if you have it done at CFC.
I have to say my first Donor was 22 and my new one is 25 so I did end up going with someone younger, but my search criteria was up to 28 if they were exceptional. Funny how 28 seems 'up there' 😊

Well kiddies, we are on the way to the airport!

i managed to help Faith out this morning with no stress at all.

i will try to update from SA, depending on DHs iPhone though so we will see how we go.

good luck everyone, especially to the August brigade! Safe travels ...

    Hi Tahli,

I set my criteria as 'up to 28' and ended up with a 22yo (2 weeks shy of 23).

I went for colouring similar to my own as a child and adult.

Brilliant ta for the timeline info @emski72! I've never been separated from DS for more than a night!!
I reckon you're onto something there...25-28 y/o is for the exceptional!!
It's interesting how many donors are smokers...surely that effects their egg quality?
Gosh I remember starting out my ttc journey at 27 & by the time I was 28 a FS telling me I was so young & not to be overly concerned. I felt over the hill! It took another decade before my DS came along. That's why I don't have the stamina to keep pushing on with my OEs.
I've just emailed CFC....the first step is underway!

A lot of my friends smoked and drank in their 20's... You do silly things in your 20's😄
