Mardi, congratulations on the birth of your baby boy! Very exciting and glad you are both ok. Enjoy motherhood! Certainly looking forward to it myself!

AFM, saw my OB on Wed and managed to book in a date for my caesarean. So booked in for 3rd November. So a tiny bit earlier than I thought but happy with that! So I'll be in the hospital for my birthday which is the 5th. Will be nice to celebrate with my little one.

Good work Leshoja getting another date locked in! Good for you!!

Emski, hoping AF turns up soon!

    Leyshoja, Cathy & Emski,
Thanks for the advice. I probably should have expanded my post a bit. I'm in the middle of two weeks of vacation at the moment (I was really frustrated at work and thought two weeks vacation would give me some perspective - which it has). So thinking it out, I could not possibly ask for another week before October.
The shortest flight is the one that I took through Amsterdam and it was 28 hours. The only flight that doesn't go through Amsterdam is also 28 hours through London.
I did get campylobacter (two weeks of severe food poisoning, which does cause miscarriages) on the flight back. I was upgraded on the CPT-AMS leg. My calves were swollen to twice their normal size in Amsterdam. I had a migraine (second in my life) while we were waiting on the tarmac in Amsterdam. The flight attendant tried to upgrade me as I was in so much pain, but there were no empty seats on the plane. I also requested staying extra in Amsterdam by e-mail and after I had boarded but nothing worked. Business class is an option, and in the $4,000 range, not the $10,000 I expected.
I guess the more I think about it, the more inclined I am to have them shipped here. The shipper was recommended by the largest sperm/egg/embryo storage facility in Canada, and he was by far the most professional response I received.
I would feel better not flying and controlling the food I eat. And I do have confidence in my Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE), he has got me pregnant twice. It's just unfortunate that I also miscarried twice (once chromosomal, once campylobacter).
I truly thank you for the advice, and will let you know how things progress. I do hope to be on the FET roll by November though.

Canuck, that's a very long flight! Even comparing to Aus ...you have to deal what you're comfortable with and it sounds like exporting/importing embies is more about the wait than anything. I'm sure if we could do it here a lot of us would.
    Em x

Yay for treatment plans and dates @emski72 and @leyshoja!

I'll be high fiving emski as we leave CT on 5th September but by train instead of plane.

August ladies - I know that no date will suit us all but from the responses it looks like the 25th will work for a number of us. Any takers for high tea at the Mt Nelson on that date?

    Sunny

    Hi,
congratulations mardicharli, a baby boy how gorgeous!
Sunnygirl04 and fern girl we are also at CFC on 24th Aug for our first appointment, how exciting! Would love to meet up but can't do 25th as OH having surgical sperm retrieval, poor soul.
Have a question about travel insurance, did anyone take out anything specialised? I suppose the concern is if anything goes wrong with Hubby as his is the most invasive. Beginning to freak out, we're considering back up sperm just in case but are we trying to control everything too much!
Thanks again for all the info and sharing
