Sorry to hear of your loss OP. So many Drs aren't aware that anti d is needed with any bleeding etc! With my first pregnancy I had quite a lot of bleeding and the first time was on a public holiday. I went to a GP after hrs clinic because I knew I needed anti d and the GP I saw had no idea! She ended up sorting it out but she just didn't even know that it was needed. As pp said I guess so many of them have no gynae or obs training..

Thankyou so much for your advice. Living in a rural area we have many locum drs and it makes things very frustrating and our hospital isnt set up to cater for babies etc so all specialist clinics etc are 2.5hrs drive so having a good dr is so important. I went today and he advised i didnt need the injection as miscarriage was before 12 weeks, i told him i was unsure of tnis and he called the RN at the maternity ward in the city hospital who confirmed the same, which gave me some peace of mind.

Hi all. An update as have just had a d&c today as went for my 12 week scan on friday 23rd and had an empty gestational sac. The xray tech advised a small amount of bleeding she could see in the sac.
After going to a&e and being sent to the maternity ward that day i was given an anti d shot finally. However i had no bleeding until ive had my d&c and thought maybe the fact i didnt have it in my prev miscarriage has contributed to this one? We have arranged testing if what was collected today.
My other question is will the anti d given on friday be effective for the bleeding im experiencing after d&c today?
