    Default When did your Bub get a deep latch?

    DD is a week today!

    We saw an LC yesterday which was great. Basically not a deep enough latch is leading us to severe nipple compression and damage. So we have some work to do to develop this.

    We are starting out with 2 bf a day, both yesterday were very painful and unsuccessful. LC thinks we should have it sorted in 2 weeks.

    When did your Bub get s deep latch so that it didn't hurt?

    Oh you poor thing! I don't have an answer and am not much help sorry. Bf has never hurt me unless I've had mastitis (which I've had 7times in 11 months).
    I used a bf pillow which helped with a lot of support, do you use one ?

    It took around 8 weeks I think for the pain to go with a better latch

    My pain was just the first 30 secs though. Is yours for the whole feed?

    I'm using a nipple shield with my 2 week old baby. She was 4 weeks prem and didn't have a great suck or latch and my supply is crazy so hard to get on. The nipple shield has made a world of difference - been using them a week and every feed has been great, latched straight on and successful. The first week I got cracked sore nipples and the Rite Aid hydrogel discs helped with that pain immensely.
