    Default Surrogacy in Victoria

    Hi all,

My partner, Richard, and I are wanting to start our family and looking for some advice. Is there anyone that can tell their story, particularly time frames (how long for counselling then how long was the IVF treatments etc) and also how you went about finding a surrogate and how was that process?

    Thank you all in advance!

    Nick

    Hi Nick.
I'm a surrogate for my SIL and we are now 14wks 3 days pregnant.
We started the process in June 2014 and had our first attempt at a cycle in June 2015. Our clinic took a bit longer than some others because they wouldn't do egg pick up, etc. until after it had been approved by the clinic's ethics committee. The clinic also insisted on a 3 month quarantine of the embryos before we could cycle.
I hope that helps you with an idea of time line. 😊
