    Default IVF & Medicare...

    Hello...

Does anyone know what CUTS medicare are taking for IVF related claims? Have just done my first Cycle back after nearly 5 years and have been told medicare will be making lots of changes as to what they will and will not cover.

Anyone know more? Been googling all evening and can't find ANY INFO!

    Thank you!

Roughly 50% of our cycle was covered by Medicare. Though I'm not sure if a less expensive clinic would result in more coverage (dollar wise).

    We used Monash in Melbourne.

I hadn't heard they were cutting? Maybe ring the clinic and ask.

Sorry, misread the question. I've not heard anything but I wonder if someone was referring to the medical cost write-off they ended a couple years ago.

The write off was before my time, but I think you used to be able to claim other medical expenses (including IVF) as a write-off which is not longer possible.

But agree with Lily, the clinic should be able to tell you.

Yes that's my understanding too . With Monash I got a pretty detailed breakdown of the costs for our cycle and estimated rebates .
