We have a you can't smoke while at work, in your car or in public during work hours clause in our employment agreement as its not an image we want for our company ( we put it in a few years ago when one of our sales girls started smoking - her car smelt horrific and she would stand out the front of the office or at open houses smoking, not a good look for clients walking past ) thankfully no one in the office smokes any more

I hate smoking, but I wouldn't have thought anything of seeing an employee smoking in uniform on their break. I would have avoided walking through the smoke cloud, been reminded of how much I dislike smoke, and thought nothing more of it.

I doubt that they have the best hand washing facilities. I have never purchased pasta from them because I saw him smoking even tho I LOVE pasta..... So yeah I think workers should seriously consider the time and place they smoke. X
This happened at my favourite bakery. I was pulling in to the car park and the bakers were all standing around smoking by the doors. I know people smoke but it just grossed me out and really put me off so I just kept driving :/

I really can't see the big deal, it's not illegal to smoke and it doesn't sound like she was in a no smoking area.

Fair enough the some people don't like smoking or the look of it, but I can't see how you would do anything about it?

She works at Coles, not Chanel. (Not that there's anything wrong with working at Coles, just pointing out its not high end).

I always see employees smoking right out the front of Coles and woolies with uniforms on. You have to walk past their lovely smoke trail to get in store. Not something that looks or smells nice that's for sure.

When I worked at Kmart in my teens we would have been in so much strife for smoking out front (not that I have ever smoked).

But away from the store so you're not blowing your smoke in everyone's faces.. Meh.. Your lungs.

I very much dislike smoking, but I wouldn't have thought anything of it. At least, not in relation to the workplace. I might have been bothered by where she was standing and held my breath as I went past.

The workers at the Coles I go to smoke up near the toilets at the complex. Annoys me if I have to take the kids to the toilet because it reeks of smoke and there's always at least one there smoking.

    Yep same here.

I do hate seeing people who prepare food smoking in their work clothes, like a chef. That's really gross and I would avoid that cafe / restaurant because of it.

I deliberately hold my breath loudly as I walk past. Most shops have no smoking signs near their doors.
