Hi all, I'm 22 and newly pregnant (about 4 weeks, found out yesterday) with my second baby. I am really, really concerned about weight gain, as in my first pregnancy at 17, I gained 30kgs and it's taken me 4 years to lose 15 of those. This pregnancy came earlier than expected as I thought I was having fertility issues and that it would take a long time to conceive. Last month I signed up to a gym and planned out this whole intense workout routine to reach my goal of becoming very fit, toned and defined. So now plans have changed, and I'm looking for advice on what workouts I can do through my pregnancy to keep my weight gain down and still be able to tone up. Any advice on what to eat and what to avoid would be really helpful!

Girls I'm having a problem with my insatiable hunger... I'm a matron of honour in a wedding in 4 weeks time and I'm worried my dress isn't going to fit! It's super fitted in the belly area...what can I do? I know now isn't the time for crash dieting so I feel really stuck

have you got the dress @Anasi?

if get in touch with a good seamstress and explain the situation. see how close to the wedding she might be able to do some last minute adjustments for you. can't think of anything else really. definitely don't be dieting or staying hungry for the sake of a wedding. bub is more important

No my friend has it...I thought maybe I could ask her for it for the purpose of the new bra I had to buy to make sure it's ok. I have someone that could let it out, I just need to get my hands on it. If anyone can think of another way I can get it that would be great lol.

My normal go to method is crash dieting but no way I'm doing that now!! We've Wanted this bubba forever!

How many weeks will you be for the wedding? There is a good chance you won't have changed size. However, better to allow room now than panic the week before...
Is telling the bride absolutely out of the question? (if it were me I would, save a lot of stress!).

I will be 11+1 at the wedding.
I would rather get the dress and be able to know how it's going rather than trying to figure out a solution the day of if it doesn't fit.
Hmmm not completely out of the question... I'm sure it would be ok, I'm just wary of telling ppl just yet I'm afraid of this first trimester.

Good call, if you can get the dress that's the best scenario. I am sure the bride won't mind, every wedding I have been in I was always given my dress well before the wedding and it's not unusual for bridesmaids to get their own last minute adjustments. Maybe just say you want to double check the fit /you've been working out and your body shape has changed a little recently, etc... It's not an unreasonable request 😉

I asked her for it today and she said she will drop it off to me during the week! Yes!

No walk for me this morning but I got up and did a quick prenatal ballet/pilates workout. It's nice to get up and have a stretch first thing in the morning, even if only short.
