    Default Fit pregnancy - for those trying to stay for and healthy throughout their pregnancy

    I thought I'd start a thread for all those that, like me, want to stay fit throughout their pregnancy. Any tips you want to share, healthy snack ideas, exercise links, etc.
    whilst I didn't gain excessive weight with my first pregnancy (and lost it all in less than 6 months after birth), I want to try even harder this time to keep up my fitness and healthy eating during each trimester. In a sensible way, of course.
    Trimester one and I am struggling with healthy food choices. I'm normally a poached eggs for breaky type person but finding I want plain carbs. Similar story with other meals, salad has lost its appeal!
    Went for my usual 4km run yesterday and struggled - normally it's super easy. These hormones are doing crazy things to me.

    I PROMISED myself I would stay fit and healthy during this pregnancy, but I'm really struggling. For over a year I had counted every single gram of protein, carb and fat that entered my body, and exercised once or twice a day 6 days a week without fail.

    As soon as I saw that second line on the test, my eating became out of control. I kept up my weights routine at first, but now all I'm doing is two sessions a week. Argh. I still don't look pregnant and look fairly fit, but I've put on almost 5kg and I'm only 16 weeks. I really promised myself I'd do better

    It's super hard hey. And in some ways we owe it to ourselves to be less strict while we nurture a little person in our bellies. We wouldn't want to starve them, lol.
    I don't think 5kg is so bad by 16 weeks especially if you were quite slim to begin with. You won't necessarily put on weight at a consistent rate throughout the pregnancy anyway.
    The tiredness is killing me of late. Getting up early in the cold for a workout is not fun at the best if times. I am going to force myself to the (heated) pool today for some laps. I know I won't have the energy tonight...

    Subbing! I promised myself I would try harder than last pregnancy to keep fit, but my motivation stinks!

    I'll join this thread! I was kinda off the working out bandwagon before I conceived, but have always at a minimum walked regularly. Want to keep it up as much as possible. Snacks are probably the hardest thing at the moment too, just don't have the energy after dinner to prepare a lot of food for the next day.

    Nearly 16 weeks with baby #4. The 5kg I've put on already has gone straight to my hips, not to a bump! I now have a muffin top where there was no previous muffin

    You look fine hun. I know it's all relative though and I will be the same in a few weeks time. I hate the inbetween part though, when you don't look obviously pregnant and you worry people must just think you're fat lol. But honestly you look fine!

    Congrats @sunnygirl79!

    I'm 38 weeks now so a little late to jump on this thread but thought I would anyway. I've put on just over 10kg which I'm happy with - I put it all on before 28 weeks and hardly any since, so don't worry @CazHazKidz! Plus you are tiny

    I kept on track by researching the specific nutrients the baby needed for each trimester and making a special effort to cook and eat them. I have been lifting weights the whole way through and was doing cardio til about 30 weeks, when I switched to mainly walking. Now, I try to get incidental walking in by parking my car far away etc. I have been naughty though as well, I never deprived myself of any cravings at all which has been great for my relationship with food.

    16weeks and still running anywhere from 3-5km. Hoping I can keep this up so I set myself a goal of doing the 10km at the sunny coast marathon. Fingers crossed I keep the fitness up

    Hi ladies I just found out I'm preggers with #1! So exciting... I've always done HIIT as part of my routine...is it still safe to do so early on? I want to make sure my little poppy seed is safe xo
