Default Ftm. 6 weeks pregnant scared after first gyno appointment

So i had my first gyno appointment today. The doctor tried to do a ultrasound but couldn't see anything. I did have an empty bladder and have a tilted uterus. Would that matter or should i be worried

Hi Rosey, 6 weeks is very early to see anything. I'm sorry that the appointment didn't go to plan though as it must be worrying. Did they say to come back in a week or so? I know with my 8 week scan it took them forever to be able to find bub & I also have a tilted uterus. They had to do an internal ultrasound & it took them a while to find her. Hopefully they'll get you back in a week or so & they'll have no trouble finding bub. I hope it goes well.

Was it an internal or external scan?

They should be doing a transvaginal scan that early (internal). May explain why they couldn't see anything.

I agree, they should be doing an internal one. They couldn't see anything externally for me until I was 10 weeks. I'm glad you have another one soon

Thats what i thought too. My next appointment is at the hospital. So im assuming it will be internal. Doctor only had the external one at his clinic.

Rosy I have the same shaped uterus and I remember always having that horrible probe (internal) with scabs under 12weeks. The technician said there's no way they would see anything if they did an external ultrasound with a uterus shaped like that under 12weeks. So don't stress get a different scan done (an Internal) and I'm sure you'll see your bub. xx

I just thought id update. Had another scan today. The "date" scan. We saw the baby. Im 7 weeks 4days. It has a strong heart beat. But the doctor did say there was a small gap between the baby and the uterus. And that it would heal naturally. Has anyone else has this?
