    Question Who actually runs here?

Ive been contemplating on running every morning to try and kill those last few kilos quicker. The only thing is i dont know where to start!! I mean is there any preparations you have to go through before you start? Does it really help? What clothes do you wear to run? Do any of you do it on a regular basis? Sorry for all the questions but im very interested.

It's always been my dream to be able to run long distances. I tried everyday before I got PG with DD and my fitness never got to the next level due to some deep seated fears I have of fainting if I push myself too hard. What I did that helped was borrow a couple of books from the local library on running, there is even a running magazine. That would be a good place to start I wish you all the best on your new adventure...good thing is it burns heaps of calories and can be addictive

    yep it works for me.

I dont run, i really only jog.

When I havent done it for awhile I jog till I am puffed, stop and walk very quickly, get breath back do it again etc.

Its pretty amazing how quick you will see your fitness improve, a few days and i find i am jogging longer, end of a week I actually enjoy it!

I wear my yukkiest daggiest top and shorts (just stuff from kmart).

As for results, I love what it does for my thighs

Oh and i also recomend doing it in the morning, I usually go at 5.30am, DS is usually waking up, but he's all hubby's till i get my me time. I feel soooo much better for the day too.

Forgot, always stretch (definitely after, but should before, i usually dont, i just walk to warm up) and think about how you place your feet, like be conscious of your body, it can be quite meditative pounding the ground!

Go for it, I miss it sooo much at the moment and can't wait to get back out there with ipod in ears (i know can be dangerous as you don't know who is lurking behind) but stick to a good well lit routes where there are lots of cars driving by, just start slow and as Jamb says walk when you are puffed and just keep on trying you will notice such a difference. I seriously can't wait to get back out there, I drive my jogging route alot now and just think of how I will be back on it again. I find it therapuetic but also needed massages for tightness etc as I am getting old Good luck and enjoy

I know this will sound totally but it is honestly such a natural high and if you already walk you have a great head start.

Oh and did i mention you lose cm's and kgs!!!!!

Sounds good to me!!! Did it help you lose some of the flabby bits you get after having babies? This question is for everyone! Im finding im losing weight but the flabbiness is getting worse around my belly and hips.

Yep it toned up what me and my DH affectionately call my "rump". This is the area above my ar*e at the back and round to those love handles at the side.
