Hugs. My sister in law is very similar when we decided to tell her we were doing ivf. After 2 years, we fell and 16 weeks into the pregnancy we lost our bub. This was met with 'this really wasn't a natural pregnancy so no need to get upset!' Lovely woman- NOT!

It's amazing the types of things people and (family) say when you are doing ivf and they are meant to be supporting you. Good luck with your ivf, I'd be polite to her but not tell her jack sh!t anymore.

Hubby reckoned she changed - well obviously not. That's why I wanted to tell her: I don't like boats rather than letting her info our ivf secret.
Another comment we got was since this debarkel:
"I am sorry about earlier, of course going through this is entirely up to you and kitty. I mean you can obviously afford spending tens of thousands in ivf and what not given the success of your business which is evident by your recent property purchase and new car. I guess a science baby would fit right into this lifestyle (as if it would be some sort of accessory silly woman) as it seems what all wealthy people are doing (oh yeah we have money coming out of our arses - not). But maybe you should consider the children you already have and how they might be affected by this. This money could pay for their university degrees."

WTF?? Is she serious. I would end all contact with her. What a self centred biatch. Dont give her another thought. People like her are not even worth the air we breath. Good luck in your ivf journey hun. Sending you lots of baby dust xx

I know how u feel @KittyDeFleur, we have had the same reaction to starting ivf from certain people. It's hard, especially when they have no idea how emotional the journey can be. Try not let your Sil get you down, I know it's hard though. She sounds like a real piece of work. Goodluck with your ivf....ps if hear one more person say "just relax and it will happen I will scream" 😱 sometimes it doesn't matter how relaxed you are you need a little help from science xo

Oh my gosh. How have you not wiped her from your life? What a disgusting piece of work.

What extremely hurtful comments. I would not want anything else to do with her. Forget the 2 week wedding cruise, I wouldn't want to go to the wedding at all.

Horrible, meddling, toxic individual. I'd be blocking her mobile number and email address and let your DH be the one to deal with her (and tell her she needs to learn some manners).

So mean. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but Regardless of your views on IVF, you just dont say those things to someone who is going through it. A little tact people!!

I often think that a lot of people are not entitled to an opinion... Like in this case. When it's completely ignorant, hurtful and unnecessary.

    Wow that is horrible.

I haven't had anyone react in such a nasty way, but my family weren't very helpful for me when I first told them about our journey.

My other siblings are VERY fertile and my mum seems to think that I 'caught' PCOS from something or someone and always asks me if I've recovered like its a cold or STD.

Then she gives me this pitiful look like I'm broken. Many tears have been shed over others insensitivity towards my struggles.
