Default Genea Newcastle - Dr McIlveen

Hi guys. My fertility specialist has recommended ICSI for hubby & I to try for another child. Has anyone used Dr McIlveen? Would love some feedback and what to expect. It all seems very daunting.

I haven't required her services but have worked with her in the past and she is an absolutely lovely dr who has wonderful bedside manner and is so kind and caring of her patients.

Default Genea Newcastle - Dr McIlveen

I just finished my first IVF cycle (which was a BFN) and she over saw all of my tests and tailored my program for me. I never actually met her, but I have an appt to meet with her next week in Gosford so we can talk about plan B.
I hear she is good, guess we will both see

I've just had my 2nd ds. Both boys from cycles with Dr Mcilveen. I really liked her, but I also know a couple of people that didn't warm to her. But me & dh both really liked her. She was straight to the point, covered all bases & explained everything well. She called me personally when neither of my frozen embys thawed one cycle, she came in to do my transfer on a w/end that she was meant to have off. And she was so lovely this preg when I went for my 7wk scan & I had super bad ms.

Dr McIlveen is my FS too. We first saw her in Dec 2012 when we were unsuccessfully ttc and started Ivf in Aug 2013. We were lucky enough to have a bfp on our first cycle and now have an almost 13 month old, I also called just this week to book in an appointment to see her for a FET to try for #2.
We found her lovely and had absolutely no problems. The most important thing is she always seemed very knowledgeable and gave me confidence that we were in the best hands. I really believe that she knows her stuff! She's also straight to the point and didn't muck around, which I loved since most people who see her just want to get in and start or add to their family.

I am so sorry I just saw this comment!!! Our meeting with Dr McIlveen went well. She told me to start taking coenzyme q10 and told DH he needs to start taking vit c and e. She said DH has to ejaculate at least 3 times per week to keep his swimmers fresh. We did another cycle of IVF and had much better results. Although I did not get a bfp, we did also get two frozen embryos and Genea will only freeze top quality embryos
She tweaked my fish injections and this time got 15 eggs, 11 of which were mature and fertilised through icsi.
I have heard from a few people esp in the especially in the medical field that she is definitely one of the best 😀
