Meh, I'm more concerned about the chocolate and lollies at "kid height" at the checkout.

Lubricant etc, and dildos are also sold eye height too now at shopping centres at Coles etc
Dildos are sold at Coles? Where?

With the condoms and pregnancy tests. Not all stores carry them, but I have seen them at different grocery stores and chemists.

I've never seen a dildo sold at my local supermarket? As for line and frangers I've never seen then sil's at kids eye height at the checkout. If I did it's not so much of an issue for me - my toddler would think they are just another cream or band-aid or what not.

These types of images are the reason why breasts are sexualised and why some segments of the community think breastfeeding is something that should be done privately.

Walking around nude at home, seeing bikinis on the beach or women in low cut tops are not at all the same as a woman being displayed as an object for consumption on the front of a magazine the content of which has nothing at all to do with woman's bodies.

It is outdated and misogynistic. We have a huge issue with violence against women in this country, women being seen as objects, something to own and control, as less than (because of their sexuality) men. These types of messages add up to both our daughters to see themselves as an object and for our sons to view women as objects, as the sum of their (female) parts.

So yeah, I have a problem with it. Depending on the amount of time I had I would possibly have asked to speak to the manager, or posted it on their FB page with a comment about it.

addit. I can't say I've ever seen dildos sold in a supermarket, but like lubricant and condoms, these are things that are used by couples in healthy sexual relationships. Sex between consenting adults is not something I want to hide from my kids, I do want to protect them as much as I can from the messages in our society that say there is one way for a woman to be, sexualised and for consumption (and one way for a man to be which is just as bad).

Haven't read all replies, it doesn't bother me, unfortunately these things exist and I would continue to try and raise my children to believe it's not right to objectify women or men even if they put themselves in those positions (like posing in a bikini on a men's magazine).

I can't believe people think this is the same as a woman breastfeeding or 'just a girl in a bikini'.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. The pic doesn't scream 'sex' to me. It is a girl with a nice bod on her knees in a bikini, good on her. I don't think she is overly posing. I kneel like this in short shorts and a singlet on my loungeroom floor playing with baby all the time. 😀Don't see the difference.
